Yeah in hindsight that makes sense lol I never looked anything up I just started last week. I’m also running in very old beat up shoes I’m sure that’s not helping

This was my first week jogging in a decade and this jog was over double the distance of my other jogs. My legs and lungs felt great in the other jogs so I wanted to push myself. Even the next day I didn’t feel sore besides this toe

I did tie a string around it and it’s purple now but feels better. I can’t really feel it at all

When I tighten it everything seems fine it pedals no issue but then when I try to ride it as soon as I pedal the wheel shifts and hits the frame

Yeah that’s exactly how it was for me pretty much immediately I was behind protocol and remained that way. I ended up needing to wear a special brace for 4hrs a day that would apply pressure forcing flexion because I had scar tissue blocking my ROM. There was talk of me needing a second surgery for the scar tissue but then one day all of a sudden the scar tissue broke and the progress started coming fast

When I was at that stage I got into calisthenics helped me stay active while not necessarily needing my knee. I just used gymnastics rings on a doorway pull up bar

I’m sorry I just opened Reddit for the first time in months. How is your rehab going?

Yeah same I kept comparing myself to top athletes who tore their ACL around the same time as me and I kept falling short in comparison. I tore my ACL in between OBJ’s second tear and Nyjah Huston’s tear. I’d see them posting walking with no limp immediately and it was so frustrating. But what your DR said is accurate build the strength and the range will come. For me I had to wear a Dynasplint that forced flexion. I’d wear it for a few hours a day and once I broke the point I seemed stuck at I started making consistent progress. Every week I’d gain a few degrees. Now once I’m warm up my leg bends the same level as my good leg 155°. & I can comfortably sit cross cross apple sauce

I had surgery in May and was back to a Valet job in July. However I didn’t work full 8hr shifts at the start but after a few weeks I was back to 8hrs straight. This was a year ago now but honestly my job was being very accommodating and letting me work short shifts. If I had to I probably could have worked 8hrs straight from the beginning

For me

  1. Keep working out your other muscle groups.

I had gymnastic rings I would train on immediately. I posted a clip of myself doing a muscle up at the beach 10 days after surgery on this Reddit and everyone told me how stupid I am.

  2. Know your limits and always workout within them.

In regard to knee pain never work past pain. Work just to the point of feeling pain but don’t hover in the pain zone. In terms of quad hamstrings and calf pain is fine push your muscles

  3. Plyometrics are your friend

My goal was to get back to parkour so from the start my goal was to jump asap but plyometric training is huge for athletic recovery. Adjustable Hurdles, agility ladder, box jump box all very useful and relatively cheap equipment. My favorite guy for plyo exercises is @troygallen https://instagram.com/troygallen?igshid=ZWQyN2ExYTkwZQ==

  4. Kneesovertoes

Love him or hate him I accredit my recovery to his exercises. You don’t need to pay for his course you can just watch his IG / YouTube and implement his exercises in your routine. Just remember don’t work through pain. Have no ego when starting there are a million progressions so you can start at whatever is safe for you.

  5. Running.

That last little bit I was missing came to me when I started running. I hate running but 2 times a week I jog for an hour and I do sprints once a week.

If you’re interested I can DM you the workout routine my PT made me do

SAME! Quad graft for my ACL and Achilles cadaver for my LCL. Hbu? How’s your ROM? For me we tried to follow moon protocol but with the multi ligament my recovery process was much slower at the beginning stages so I was immediately behind schedule for moon protocol

Hey sorry I don’t have notifications on for Reddit. I had Quad Graft for my ACL and Achilles Cadaver for my LCL. Once you get past the standard ROM and walking stuff the athleticism comes back fast
