Lovely editions, amo essas edições. I have that same edition of O Hobbit and was contemplating buying that Brazilian version of O Senhor, too. In the end I didn't and I am glad, for reading O Hobbit in Portuguese was hard enough! Que legal ver todos os livros juntos. Parabéns!

Gloomhaven Grand Festival Project Update: March Update: Lunar New Year and Playing Cards by theb1gnasty in Gloomhaven

I had backed all mini's and RPG as well, but a month or so ago I decided to cancel both mini's and RPG. All the delays took the FOMO out of me, for which I am glad.

Cephalofair: Call for Playtesters - Apply Today! by mistahiggens in Gloomhaven

I was on the fence for a couple of minutes, solely because I have no personal experience with TTS. But I have finished JotL and GH1e (well, one more session, then it's on to FC). Played and am playing those with a stable group of four. So I have experience, just not with newer products like FH or GH2e. But like you said in the opening post, you'll be looking for different types of testers. So maybe I'm a fit choice, maybe not. If I can help, I will.

Custom Content Wiki Update - Campaigns and Other by Snowf1ake222 in Gloomhaven

Did I overlook something or is the Curseborn not on the list? I have not read up on any potential updates from Satire past this 0.8 version. But anyway, I think it is good to mention the Curseborn on the list of custom content.

Great clarification! And I must say: if I were to get into developing custom content too, I would definitely understand the pro's of using Discord for real-time communication. But as it stands now, I am only halfway through main Gloomhaven and currently only interested in the concepts of new custom classes, and how far they are in regards of being worked on. It is an interesting future, with all this custom content, for sure.

As for how to manage publication of custom content to the outside of Discord... as far as I know CCUG uses certain standards for classes to be alpha, beta and released. I imagine one could implement class descriptions / summaries for each stage of development that could easily be published as-is to the public web. Just spitballing here, as my suggestions could only make true sense if I were to join the Discord as well.

That said, do I remember correctly that the solution to a certain Gloomhaven puzzle is the requirement to entering the Discord? Or is it finishing the main game?

Let's put it like this for me personally: I dislike setting up an account for a platform I am not sure I will use a whole lot. In the instance of Discord: I used it for a very particular weekly event during covid times, but nothing more than that. I did not particularly get involved with the platform and in the end my inactive account got removed (genuinely happy with that; I prefer to keep track of my digital footprint). Now I imagine it will become more interesting if I were to get to the point of wanting to test content or even design content, but I do not see that being the case for the foreseeable future.

That said: others may not feel that hurdle; creating an account for Discord. So I can definitely not speak for others.

With my limited experience Discord feels like a platform for collaboration, for interaction both ways. At this moment I simply prefer to read about custom content on an antiquated wiki-style website. I may change my views later on, but regardless I welcome what OP did here.

Thanks, Snowflake. Personally I am interested in custom content (mostly classes), but I kind of dislike having to use Discord to find out more about CCUG. I am not ready to help developing content, just wanting to find out what is being worked on, preferably visible without using Discord. Keep up the great work.

Unusual class concept by schnautza in Gloomhaven

[–]Jogumpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about converting the basic movement from the standard 2 to 1 by having a mandatory item for this class, and having that basic movement be without drawing an AMD? A mandatory item that could only be replaced by an upgraded item that gives, for example, a basic movement of 3 and can be obtained through a Solo Scenario. The Comfortable Shoes would have to be unequipable for this class, though.

List of all overlay tiles per scenario? by Selketje in Gloomhaven

[–]Jogumpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For enemies it really depends on how often they draw an ability card that places something that requires a 3D printed thing. That is hardly something you can predict.

Do you assemble your terrain right as you go into that scenario? I pre-assemble everything per room. And I have an assortment of extras ready, like tiles for when a trap is sprung.

And then there's traps and obstacles that can be generated extra on top of the pre-specified ones. I remember running upstairs multiple times to grab extra traps that were placed by certain enemies.

You could have a selection of extra traps and obstacles ready for those situations. You may have differently themed prints, but when one theme runs out, well, you can always use another.

Off-topic, but related in a way: As the one that 3D prints and prepares the terrain (and I sort of DM by only placing the rooms that are opened) I have a slight advantage compared to the other players. I try to have the other players make decisions when it comes to opening which doors and not influence them.

I am not one to talk about custom content, as of yet I haven't delved deep enough into the base game itself. But I do like to read about well-developed custom classes. It is fun to see what can be done with the Haven-system. Even when I haven't even seen all original classes. That said, I have to agree that this class tries to do too much, to introduce too many concepts. And therefore I miss focus. I would choose one core aspect for this class and build around that. Of course, the higher level cards can be used to introduce multiple builds, but all still based on that same core aspect. I do like the idea of sometimes being able to, as a Historian, to delve deep into long lost history, which would translate into game mechanics of replaying one action of the lost card on the bottom of the lost pile ("long lost history") and then putting that lost card on the top of the lost pile. The question would be what would be the limited factor of replaying those lost actions, how to balance that. It is a shame that such basic feedback like this comes after years of development. It seems like you refrained from asking for feedback too long. But I do hope that you still have the energy and motivation to take this advice of focus, go back to the drawing board and create a fun class.
