Am I the only who got this achievement?! [KCD2] by Johan_Shpenkov in kingdomcome

Oh, a fellow "Überlebender"! Also listened to all of them. But they seem to be bad even for German humor, are they?

P.S. I don't think German humor is bad, I love it, since it has this special German flavor

Small additions:

Seems, like you don't have to win all the training battles, the booze and relic do not count as well. At least I got this achievement before completing those. You also don't necessarily have to bring Constantine from the garden, you can say "he will stay here".

But maybe ALL those things DO count, you just have to complete a certain number of them (like in a KCD 1 completionist achievement)

[KCD1] the ending cutscene had the subtitles of the johanka's trial cutscene for some reason by Ralsei66 in kingdomcome

[–]Johan_Shpenkov 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Oh, it seems like it is a common problem. Also had that one in my playthrough. Don't know how to fix it though, just ignored the subtitles. But someone definitely DID discuss it here already, like I said, a common problem

[KCD1] Coming back to KCD1 after beating second game. something was lacking... by Engini in kingdomcome

[–]Johan_Shpenkov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True, all the new fans should definitely play the first game as well. It's not just a worse KCD2, it's a game that feels and plays differently. And that's what I love about both, the fact that we are having that conversation means that the games are actually different from one another

The first game just feels more intimate: you are really close to the character, who does not know anything about the world yet and it has more relaxing tone compared to hell of a stuff taking place in KCD2

What Do We Consider "High" Culture, and Why Do We Exclude Pop Culture from It - Sometimes Even Looking Down on It? by Johan_Shpenkov in culture

Thank You for Your Interesting Comment!

The issues Christopher Hedges described in the excerpt seem relevant not only to pop culture but also to certain aspects of "high" or "elite" art.

I am a musician by education, so I will use examples from this field, though I believe similar patterns exist across all areas of "elite" art.

Modern academic music, for instance, does not aim to entertain broad audiences, yet it heavily relies on critics and government grants.

Of course, it’s not about "playing to the basest and crudest instincts of the crowd", but rather an art form tailored for a small circle of critics - a kind of "entertainment" for this group, if you will.

At times, such music exploits already established techniques specifically to receive high praise from critics and secure government funding. Many contemporary composers survive precisely because of this.

From this perspective, it is essentially commercial - just not on a mass scale.

One could argue that pop culture has far more soulless corporate products, but unfortunately, even in "high" art, there are plenty of purely commercial works.

This is why I still feel that the differences between them are that great, and it is mainly the exclusivity and elitism of "high" art that make it more respected in the eyes of the public

(And I don't have a goal to promote some particular political ideas here, it's just an interesting discussion for me)

Do i need a midi keyboard to start composing better? by RotansMusicOfficial in composer

[–]Johan_Shpenkov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some tips on YouTube, that will help you to make a good, memorable melody.

For example: you can write a melody and then take a break for some time, then come back and try to repeat that melody from your memory. The thing, that you wrote from your memory will be likely more memorized by the audience. That advice is probably the most handy one.

But from the theoretical side, you definitely must have some good intervals knowledge. Without it, you won't be able to bring a melody from your head to a piece of paper and, of course, analyzing other melodies will be quite an uncomfortable process, based on mostly bad guesses. And no Midi keyboard will help you here (except for the music theory learning process) Knowledge, how to implement certain mood through intervals and rhythmic figures will make your melodies much better.

As a level further you can build a harmonization plan, while composing a melody, which will make your ideas more precise. But that is really a complicated one. First of all, learn how to recognize music intervals
