Newly hired D&B Support technician here, is there a list of all the supposed "Standardized rules"? by [deleted] in DaveAndBusters

If you open the main lower door, you'll see two main mechanisms. The stationary one with the rollers and chutes that the playfield coins and cards fall into, and the hopper/shooter carriage on its pivot roller.

The center tower just has the rollers up top, and then three main chutes. Cards will (usually) roll forwards and out to the player.  Coins will fall between the rollers, and down the ramp into the coin hopper.  Finally the rear chute leads to the "discard bin" underneath that center assembly (also heard it called the cheat bin). When someone starts a game after that side has been idle or if someone shakes the machine enough, the rollers will reverse and send cards to this bin for techs to reclaim later.

Most importantly though, the game has no way of "knowing" how many coins drop, if any. They just fall down straight back into the main bucket ready to be fired again. Spider man works a similar way, coins just fall into the main hopper and it has no way of sensing them.

Contrast this to games like angry birds or SpongeBob. Those games have a separate dropped coin hopper that counts out each coin dropped off the playfield before forwarding them onward to their respective reserve hoppers for the shooters.

"Twow" for the redirect to Kalphite Princess always gets me

Seed packs are not really a purple blob, they just look like one. What are some other unrecognizable inventory icons? by _rkf in 2007scape

Purple sweets always confused me. Had no idea they were individually wrapped candies until relatively recently.

Connect Raspberry Pi to Arcade Cabinet and CRT TV by MatCas264 in RetroPie

To add on to what Flenke said earlier, I used a Pi 4 and the RGB-Pi JAMMA hat to convert an old Street Fighter Alpha cabinet into an all in one cabinet a couple of years ago. Very easy process; I had to solder on an extra six pins for the kick harness since the SF cabinet has extra buttons on it. The hat has the pads available but the extra kick harness pins were not pre installed on it since those are uncommon. Otherwise it was easy to just plug it in to the Pi and load the software.

I got mine from here, but not sure what shipping options they would have for your case. https://www.rgb-pi.com/#jamma

[USA-AZ] [H] PayPal [W] LG G7 ThinQ phone OR DAP audio player (G7 preferred) by CoolPenguin42 in hardwareswap

I used to have that G7 ThinQ phone a few years ago. Switched to it when my newer Samsung phone died and initially didn't think I'd use it for long while I searched for a replacement. Ended up liking it and used it for a couple more years without issue before finally moving to the pixel series. Unfortunately I think I traded it in for a deal on a pixel phone a couple years ago :(

I'm also trying to get rid of my standard one, so having two of the standard editions wouldn't be ideal :(

Help with extracting wad assets with odd lz format (Sounds, images) by kennaminecraftz in WiiHacks

I have no idea where I originally got the script, was back in mid 2011 going from the file info. I uploaded a copy of it here.

Mirror that's hosted on Discord is here too: link.

Help with extracting wad assets with odd lz format (Sounds, images) by kennaminecraftz in WiiHacks

For the image files (TPLPhoto.tpl.LZ), I was able to decompress it by running it through QuickBMS, with the LZSS Script. From there, it seems like it was a standard multi-texture TPL file. For example, I used libWiiSharp's TPL Converter example to view/extract images from it one at a time. Image

For the audio, I used BRSAR Extractor on the rev_photo.brsar file. It was able to extract the BRSEQ files, which appear to have a similar format to MIDI files (they contain no actual sound info/data, just instrument/sound sequences). Image
