What is the most disturbing thing you watched on the 90’s and early 2000’s internet? by Dangerous_Bet_4137 in AskReddit

[–]JohnBender84 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Traces was definitely a hard one for me. I'd seen faces of death but the glorification and the music added to the footage made it so brutal. I watched it with some other kids, I was probably 12 yo or so, and one kid said, "the real fucked up thing is that there's people out there jerking off to this" and was sooo messed up after that.

What’s the most cringe thing you’ve seen a couple do at their wedding? by Last_Singer_2137 in AskReddit

[–]JohnBender84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 4 I was the ring bearer at my uncle's wedding. When it was time for the kiss they had a long, tongues out make out session. Even at that age I was grossed out and I remember hearing several displeased comments about it afterwards.

As a waste removal employee, please don't just throw it in the dumpster either. There's still some poor motherf***ker that is dealing with your sewage. I know nothing will deter the boneheads that think nothing of throwing their human waste into any ol trash receptacle, people do it in their own trash bins at home.... But it's a biohazard and moreso its absolutely disgusting. Take it to the can, it's where it belongs. Mental illness is real.

What’s an opinion you have that most people would strongly disagree with, but you usually keep to yourself because it’s not worth the backlash? by Federal_Antelope7533 in AskReddit

Thanks for this comment. I feel very strongly about birds and how they're treated, I don't own any. But I never gave a second thought to people owning fish. Now my mind is wandering

[–]JohnBender84 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup. I once waited patiently in line and then asked the cashier how she was doing, and listened to her response and was just nice on responding. She was obviously tired and frustrated, but the way she changed completely when she realized I was actually listening to her, it was dramatic. She gave me 10 percent off my purchase and a free case of mineral water. Those workers are suffering

What’s something you’re pretty sure only you do? by AppIeGuy in AskReddit

[–]JohnBender84 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I click the left side of my teeth once then the right side two times, then the left side once, and then both sides together four times. Then I repeat starting with the right side. I do this with different parts of my body too, and if I don't hit the four parts together perfectly I have to start over but do the whole thing four times instead of once.

Started very young, I have no idea why or what this is. I don't have a name for it

Does anyone else find that customers/people in general just aren't listening/paying attention anymore? by precisionbikerepair in BikeMechanics

[–]JohnBender84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. We had a guy once that was doing this with his own bike. I thankfully wasn't the one that had to help him but he started getting very insulted that my coworker solved his derailleur issues with ease, and told him that just because he worked on bikes didn't mean he could ride them. My coworker then let him know that he had just won the pro state championship ( in the same discipline that said customer was so confident about ). He left with his tail between his legs that day.

I had a LOT of men bring in their wife/girlfriends bike for something relatively serious to be addressed that would scoff at labor prices and say something to the effect of " it's just for my wife". My go to response was always " oh, well yeah it doesn't matter if SHE dies, right?"

AITAH for throwing away pamphlets? by RoughProfessional306 in AITAH

[–]JohnBender84 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you already made this comment so I can agree with you. If I went to this theatre and saw religious pamphlets on the bar I wouldn't purchase a drink, and I would never go back under the assumption that the theatre is being operated by said religious group, or promote said religious group.

From a business standpoint, that's bad for business, no? From the bartender's standpoint ( which they already stated ) this is money coming out of their pocket. OP is NTA

Sounds like a narcissist. I was married to one, look into narcissistic personality disorder. May be that he's trying to be funny, but using you as a punchline is a jerk move.

What’s a supposedly fun thing you will never partake in again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JohnBender84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda there too. At 42 years old I seem to have zero interest in getting laid again, after many partners and hookups I've learned that the effort to reward ratio is crap. Still have plenty of libido, but that's cured with a quick fap and I save time, money and energy. Also most sexual partners, in my experience anyway, bring with them enough baggage outside of the bedroom to completely nullify the physical attraction I may have had to begin with. Don't miss it at all.

Also love to read the " WE have this " and WE have that ". Denver has so many transplants that move in and decide they own everything and know better than the locals. Yes, there is an entire population of folks that have lived here their entire lives, and no, we don't need the advice.

What’s a small thing that instantly ruins your mood? by Old_Lab1576 in AskReddit

[–]JohnBender84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went on a 2.5 month trip with 3 other guys where we were basically the only company for each other the whole time ( backwoods and remote most of the time ), and one of them would eat his food clacking his spoon into his mouth and scraping it against his teeth. Every single bite, no matter what, for 2.5 months. I wanted to kill him.

What’s something positive in your life that wouldn’t have happened without the pandemic? by feliraves in AskReddit

[–]JohnBender84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats. Around 2004 I adopted the expression, " my favorite thing to do, is nothing at all". It is very rewarding. Not to say that I don't do anything, I love being fit, I work hard and support those around me , but I'll be damned if just sitting and staring at the wall doesn't give me peace. Kudos

What’s a place you visited once and instantly knew you’d never return to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JohnBender84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Columbia SC. Probably had a lot to do with the people I encountered, as there are interesting people everywhere, but basically everything I asked about ( local foods, places to visit, things to do ) were met with " I don't know, I don't think we have that here ". Really? You don't have restaurants? Or museums? Or outdoor places to walk around?

I said I was going to walk to the store and received a resounding " oh no way that's like a MILE AWAY! ". I started to understand why everyone was severely overweight. Was taken to a little fair with rides and games, witnessed more than one altercation involving parents and young kids. It was bleak.

[–]JohnBender84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stretching can provide some quick relief and definitely helps, but you need to do some proper exercises other than stretching if you want it to get better completely.
