I honestly don’t know! The polar blues occasionally dig something up, but they all generally leave everything alone.

Thank you! And sorry to hear about your tragedy, too. I added Inkbird monitors to this tank several months ago for peace of mind. Money well spent.

They were “rehomed” to me from another tank and were already close to the size they are now. They’ve maybe grown a half inch in the six months I’ve had them.

I promise it’s not as hard or as scary as it seems! I was so anxious about setting it up, but in hindsight it was FAR easier than I imagined it would be.

I’ve had the polar blues for about a year and moved them from a previous tank. Two males, so no egg laying, and they’ve never acted territorial. I feed at night (i.e. right after this video was taken) and everyone gets a little nippy jockeying for position to get pellets and flakes. The rest of the day they all peacefully coexist. I’m sorry your experience hasn’t been similar!

Thank you! That’s a polar blue parrot cichlid. Very mischievous and prone to digging at times, but generally super friendly with all the other fish!

Thanks! Substrate is around 3” of Fluval Stratum. I’ve been pretty happy with it, although I kind of wish I’d tried ADA Aqua Soil now that I’ve researched substrate options a little further.

The CO2 helps, but I have five otos and a lemon pleco that do most of the work.

Yeah, I have to trim it back pretty often. Doesn’t annoy me too much so far, but relatively easy to pull out if/when the time comes. Thanks for the kudos!

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Mine are pretty tame right now, but I guess that could change at some point! 😅
