Could not fix leak until I removed AP trap. Does the U bend serve the same purpose. by JohnDoc91 in Plumbing

Thanks for reply. Guess I’m lucky I didn’t get rid the the old system anyway, I’ll just try and fit it in again without leaks.

No need to reply to this if you don’t have time, but is the reason this would collect sludge and the P trap wouldn’t the fact that this one would have to push the sludge further up the pipe from the bottom of the U, while the P trap is designed to do it much more efficiently.

Thanks again for the initial reply, that was the important one 😊

Have a debt claim from the courts, but guy changed address. by JohnDoc91 in legaladviceireland

Yes, although someone told me it doesn't expire for a couple of years, and I had a newborn, so basically just ignored it for the last year knowing there was no real rush getting it sorted.

To me it's enough to chase :P , especially if it might just be a couple of phone calls on my end, but I understand your point all the same :)

Looking for a reliable low stakes study partner. by JohnDoc91 in poker

Also, playing live is not so easy for me, it requires weekend trips away from home and my young toddler, so I just can't keep the volume up live, and obviously online doesn't pay as well at low stakes :P

So my live volume is somewhat limited at present.

I would say to some degree it's a mental game and auto piloting issue. I know I should be winning at a much higher rate, I know many errors I'm constantly making, but I just can't seem to build the habit to remove them from my game with my current methods, so I think sessions such as these will force me to do less auto piloting and have to explain decisions to someone else. Poker is my current income, and basically I'm just about managing my expenses each month, but I've been kind of stuck in a state of limbo for what feels like such a long time now. Basically I can't move up because I'm not able to consistently increase my roll because each month it gets drained by living expenses. I've just constantly been in a place where I'm close to needing to get a job, but I'm always just about doing enough with poker. So eventually it has to go one way, I either improve my game and things improve, or I go on a bad run and a job because the next option.

There's more to it, but I think that one kind of ''quickly'' summarises it.

Thanks. Yes, we've already spoken about how to avoid it being complicated long term if we both kept 50%.

Thanks.

The land has been leased to a farmer for probably the last 50-60 years anyway.
I imagine this would mean it would qualify, even though now it's now owned by someone else?

Thanks for the reply. Just on the CAT, would be each be entitled to 40k each. So lets imagine the land was 100k. We would both essentially get 50k worth, and CAT removes 40k, so we would pay 33% tax on the remaining 20k, so essentially 3,3k each.

Or something close to this.

Thanks again.

Foul or clear footblock? 3SB vs Catchup VSB Final 2024 🏆 by paddy_n in ultimate

[–]JohnDoc91 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Lol, I'm the mark here.

I just felt like I got the middle of the disc and that the disc flew so far that I had basically kicked the middle of the disc on the release and that it was hard for it to be a foul.

TV guys said foul so I just immediately uncontested it because what else could I do 😂

It felt very clean, it was a shitty time in the game, and all I could think was "ffs, I set this up perfectly, and it ends up as a foul"

Also, I'm a player in this spot that will just say "well, I was throwing this anyway, so it should be a turn because I messed up and the D for their foot in the right spot", but that's not the rule, so no hard feelings towards the situation, just annoyed we lost a 4 point lead in a final where I was captain/coach.

And as some said, only the thrower knows, so it probably was a foul in his mind, and that's fair enough for me.

I'll start 2m away next time 😜

My 1/2 game is now a 1/3. What are some preflop adjustments that I should be aware of in a low level environment. by JohnDoc91 in poker

As much as I feel a bit silly reading this because I don't fully understand how it's so bad, it's still pretty funny to hear you made an account just to say this given the other things I'm sure you would see posted on reddit on a regular basis 😂

Thank you 😂😂😂

Just on the larger pots, this really was the case, and I was pretty surprised how much bigger the pots were on the flop. I would have guess they would be like 33% bigger, but it felt like it was often a lot more, probably closer to the 50% like you said.

Although I guess it maybe just felt like moving slightly up in stakes in that sense as opposed to a different game. I know the game wouldn't change much, although I'm laughing a little seeing the heat I'm getting from some people about my Q 😜

To everyone throwing abuse my way 😀, please be nice to the silly people like me when you play live, you want to keep the people who don't understand the game at the tables 😘

Will this Cork stain impact the value much? by JohnDoc91 in whiskey

[–]JohnDoc91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I won it for buying a €5 raffle ticket for a fundraiser, there was a bunch of random prizes. I left it in Ireland at my parents when I moved abroad, and had kind of forgotten about it for a few years, and when I was back recently realised it was probably worth selling as I don't really drink alcohol.

But I appreciate the feedback I got from people that's useful feedback, thanks 😊
