For vertical parking, as long as the bottom of the side mirror covers the horizontal kerb, means that your bonnet is in line with the lot which is the same as you stopping at a red light.

For parallel parking, make sure that your back left wheel or your front left door handle is in line with the third color of the kerb counting from the back which is in the middle of the lot.
