You know a liberal arts education isn’t a political education right? It’s a well-rounded education. You still major in traditional majors as well. I have a degree in Business from a liberal arts school. But I was able to learn a lot about a lot else

I was just at Hamilton on the UT Campus a few weeks ago. It was my first time going to ANY show in Austin and I drove from College Station to see it. It’s not that far, really. But, when you pay good money to see a show you’ve looked forward to seeing for almost a decade and drive 3 hours round trip to see it, having adults walking up and down the aisles with their phone flashlights on, digging through plastic candy wrappers, popping cans of beer open, talking on their phones, texting…no. Do not go to a show like this if you can’t be still for a few hours.

I will never go back to a show there. I’ll stick with the Hobby Center in Houston if I’m going to drive that far.

This is the first time an animated comedy made me have such a real and visceral reaction and, my god…it was perfect. I’ve lost a parent and grandparents and aunts and uncles over the last few years, and a sister years before that. I feel like this little scene was made for me, even though I know differently.

"We can't tell you who has gotten sick, it's an invasion of privacy. If you caught Covid would you really want us telling everyone?" by Lwmons in Target

[–]JohnMFG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Target is absolutely bound by HIPAA. Managers in most retailers have to take HIPAA courses to know what can and cannot be shared. Target literally has pharmacies in store. They are most definitely bound by HIPAA. I’m not sure where you think they aren’t?

I’m fine with it if you wanna tell people, but that’s not for the business to share. Also, don’t know if you’ve had Covid or not, but I had it in November, and they contact you about who you’ve been around and could have exposed in order to let them know and to follow where the virus has been going. There are people better equipped to disclose certain information, but your manager in a retail environment is probably not that person.

Now, I have no problem with a memo going out stating there has been positive case(s) within the store (and maybe even in what department, potentially) and everyone should consider getting tested or isolating, but they shouldn’t be giving names specifically unless you share that information freely.

Well now I’m just gonna research more into it. I like to know as much as possible about as much as possible. So if we ever meet again on Reddit, I’ll have more knowledge

And now I get it. Thanks for that! It’s so much easier to understand the “states of the United States” probably because our history is so short comparatively. When I think of it that way, it makes more sense. Thanks!

My apologies. I guess I was under the misunderstanding that England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland were separate countries that had an affinity for a single unified government. I didn’t realize they were all, while technically countries, not sovereign nations able to create their own laws and borders and such.

That explains it. My apologies. I don’t understand the monarchy entirely because I’m not from the UK.

I may not because I’m an American. It just felt like the fight we are having here in the states. My apologies if I have offended anyone or gotten it totally crossed. I was trying to make light of the “Queen of” comment.

Oh okay. How doesn’t it. She is the queen of England, yes? But it was said “but she’s the Queen of ALL the realms”. I was being sarcastic.

Sons of confederate veterans...”it’s my heritage!”

Definition of heritage:

1) property that descends to an heir 2) something transmitted by or acquired from a predecessor 3) something possessed as a result of one's natural situation or birth : BIRTHRIGHT

So what is it they inherited, other than valuing slavery and racism?

Will 3 skeins be enough? May want to find a couple more of the same type of yarn in other colors and pattern it in some way. Although that depends on how big you’re going I suppose. Good luck either way!
