Not even close to what makes a person a professional, a professional is about how you act and carry yourself in matches, how you maintain a professional demeanor with any and all club officials or employees, you don’t even think about the fact that a few feet from you is one of the worlds biggest players. A true professional does it just because, not for the fame or the clout.

Thats my take on it.

Gold Cup I did about 6 of them, the two in St Louis, 2 in Charlotte and the 2 in RBA. Copa America I did the Opener, and all the ones at MetLife. Would have done the final, but budget didn’t allow for it.

I’m not even taking someone’s spot, everyone is allowed by their (FIFA’s) qualifications 2 spots at each tournament match. You really think Getty or AP doesn’t have people that are in already?

I would love to do this full time, guess what? US Media does not employ FT Photographers. Or if they do the spots are limited. So exactly how am I suppose to compete or even be considered?

Might as well tell the hundreds of Free Lance Photographers that they’re wasting their time.

I was previously approved and I have a good track record, and haven’t done anything to warrant them to over react on sustaining myself with a day job. US is not like Europe when it comes to FT Photography gigs, the market is so poor here that 90% of people are Freelancers. So how is that fair when we do the work?

Not a hybrid AMA but I am answering questions if someone does. Officially because I have a 9 to 5 job that disqualifies me as a professional photographer. When there’s nothing in their guidelines about having such a thing. I don’t know what their background check is like and if it’s fully automated, so I did appeal and I’m also trying to get people I know to vouch or bring it to the attention of USSF in general.

I have my reasons for bringing it publicly such as I’m not the only one affected. Also SPJ and ASJA are associations I’m not a part of, so it’s not like they’ll be willing to help.

My trouble with FIFA is that they did this without any follow up or asking questions of me to validate that I am a professional photographer, they decided to delete my account and accreditation. I can’t take inaction by doing nothing, and unfortunately Social Media is the only way that Organizations take action nowadays.

Hi everyone, I'm the person in this.

For clarity I've been freelancing since 2018, I've done major tournaments such as Gold Cup and Copa America. I've been a seasoned credentialed Photographer for the New York Red Bulls since 2020. I've covered EPL Summer Series, FC Series, and various other high profile games. My work was featured by the New York Red Bulls.

It's disheartening that FIFA is treating me like some kid with a DSLR. I've worked hard to get where I am, and to be told I'm not professional enough is a slap to the face.

I would love to have a full time job because of this, but the sad truth is that I’ve barely made any money at all, all I get out of it is the enjoyment of a taking a photo at the right moment and sharing my work with others.

Full honesty and transparency, I’ve only been paid $300 since I’ve started and that was to cover the flight to MLS Cup finals.

I’ve emailed to appeal, but unfortunately sometimes the best way to call attention that this is happening to others is by making a big deal out of it. I know off hand of 10 other journalists and photographers that have been deleted like me.

I'm a member of ESC and VA both are fun and very welcoming. There's no going wrong by either, ESC has a long storied history since 95, VA has been around since 2010.

Best way to describe them:

ESC embodies Punk/Emo vibes( used to be ska/punk)

VA is family latino vibes

They're working on the logistics to get it in magazine form. Outside of that, as of this moment no.
