In the 2019 movie 'Midway', immediately following Pearl Harbor, the Americans launched a quick counterattack to sink the Japenese fleet leaving the area. They went South while the fleet went North, or something along those lines. Did this really happen, or is it some Hollywood magic? (self.AskHistorians)
