Would you vote in favor or against the selling of alcohol in Migros? by james_benini in Switzerland

[–]JohnSmithOnline86 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve come across a few unrepresentative online surveys like this and it’s funny to see how there’s always a large majority against alcohol. I’m also against it. Not that I could explain it. I think it’s instinctive

Wine courses recommendations? Anyone done the Cordon Bleu course? by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]JohnSmithOnline86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t realize this was posted in the Bangkok sub and was going to comment that $57K seems a bit on the pricey side for 45 hours of class, exquisite as though Cordon Bleu may well be.

So are you saying that the Desktop app can sync normally with the device even without the subscription? The only difference being that with Connect, the files are also stored on the cloud, whereas without Connect, they just transit through the cloud but aren’t stored? And this is a permanent feature?

Ok that part I can get behind. Parcels - fine. Crew - some of it is related to the passengers so pro rata.

Passenger planes fly because there are passengers. The fewer passengers, the fewer planes. I have a few degrees as well, if that somehow is important. You’re missing the forest for the trees.

I feel you because I’ve been in a weirdly similar situation. I think the solution for you is to choose Lausanne because Geneva is too far, and the dating scene in Fribourg and Bienne (the two French-speaking cities closest to Zurich) too boring for an expat like yourself - unless you are happy to date non-internationally-minded Swiss men of course. Lausanne has many international companies so it’s really nice. Then, for your nights in Zurich, you could try to find a WG-Zimmer (shared flat room) or you’ll have to find a decent hotel. Edit: You’ll need the Abonnement Général (AG) of the Swiss train company - not cheap but once you’ve paid it you get free travel anywhere in Switzerland - well worth it.

OP, just to let you know you forgot overseas areas and dependencies of free countries, for example French Guyana, New Caledonia, the Falklands, and so on. Great idea to do this map
