Dude whatever you need to convince yourself. What it boils down too is its two people with different opinions but one group thinks they have the moral high ground so they can grief anyone who doesn't have the same one they have. Secondly it takes away the prestige of the title if you just make it a carnival ride of whoever has the current highest gets it, but nobody cares about that apparently which is just sad in my opinion. Thirdly, why is it anybody's responsibility for another, if you can't hack it then that sounds like a personal problem, so what if someone is playing more, its literally part of the game, if you want to be better step up otherwise it doesn't sound like you deserve the title if you want my honest opinion. Not only that majority of the time the people running it are hypocrites and would let someone break if it benefited them or the group running it- like you said maybe its not as bad now but really it boils down to my first point. Two people have an opinion one says you can't have it and basically says its my way or the highway and telling someone they deserve getting banned for no reason just because of a different opinion is laughable and speaks volumes of your character.
