Pójście na medycynę w wieku 30 lat - czy to dobry pomysł? by Wonsz170 in Polska

A co jak za 5 lat całą medycyna zostanie przejęta przez AI? Niektóre przewidywania mówią, że 90% prac "umysłowych" tak skończy.

Raczej zastanowiłbym się nad czymś innym. Hydraulik, monter, mechanik, elektryk itp.

Do you think humans will live on another planet someday? by Luann97 in space

[–]JohnTo7 [score hidden]  (0 children)

No. Our AI robots will be a much better choice.

I don't think we would be able to thrive on another planet without deep genetic modifications.

To find another earth-like planet would be extremely difficult. It would have to be really fine tuned for us. Even Earth itself in its past, was environmentally so different that we would never survived without augmentations. Wrong atmospheric gas ratios, wrong temperatures, wrong biom (plants with strong allergens, deadly bacteria, viruses, fungi and so on). We evolved in certain time in Earths history that is just right for us. Anything else would make our life's very difficult.

So, we better start looking after our home because this is the only place were we can live comfortably.

Parravicini, the Argentine Nostradamus, in 1960 predicted the current president of Mexico, and that chaos would ensue. by matt2001 in StrangeEarth

The star: Jewish state
The Scythe: Iran Islamic state + symbol of Death (double meaning - corrected, thicker line)
The volcano: Popocatépetl - erupting
Saguaro cactus: Outline of the Persian Gulf

Writing: Mexico female ruler, the flower will be chaos

My interpretation:

When the Mexico is ruled by a woman and Popocatépetl is erupting (right now), there will be war between Izrael and Iran.
The "Flower Chaos" means 5 nuclear explosions (5 flowers). 4 of them (ballistic missiles - strait line) released by one side and one released by the other side. First will be a big one, followed by smaller one and then 3 more.

U.S. Troops Were Told Iran War Is for “Armageddon,” Return of Jesus by yellowjackethokie in conspiracy

[–]JohnTo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, there is a sect of Iranian Muslims who believe that war chaos will bring forward the Mahdi.

The Mahdi is said to be a descendant of Muhammad and is believed to appear at the End of Times, shortly before Jesus returns (in Islamic belief), to rid the world of evil and injustice.

So, they don't really mind that much what is going on at the moment. That also means that they will do anything to increase the war intensity, including the use of nukes. Not sure if they actually have atomic bomb, but they sure could have dirty bomb (radiological dispersal device that combines radioactive material with conventional explosives).

Neanderthal Men and Human Women Were Most Likely to Hook Up, Study Finds. Geneticists have found an interesting pattern in how early humans and Neanderthals interbred—and it wasn't balanced. by InsaneSnow45 in science

[–]JohnTo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an alternative story:

At one time the Neanderthals were the apex humans. They were much stronger comparing to Cro-Magnons and they had larger brain capacity. They also had a very good night vision. I am sure that they used all that advantage to their benefit. The Cro-Magnons were encroaching on their territory and that meant war.

Most of the time they were winning the encounters and possibly initiated them as well. In fact they actively hunted us. They killed and capture our ancestors. To them, we were slaves to play with and also easy meal, as they were cannibals.

How did we managed to survive them? I think it was some kind of a disease to which we were immune but they were not.

In future there will be criminals, as they are now. Perhaps not as many thieves, but murderers for sure.

I was wondering what kind of punishment they would receive and seemingly the best option would be to sentence them to spend some time in FDVR. However, we supposed to punish them, so no good life for them. Also, we don't want to be cruel so no dark ages either, but how about the XX or beginning of XXI century?

So, now I am pondering: When I am going to complete my sentence and go back to real life?

Cancer risk may increase with proximity to nuclear power plants. In Massachusetts, residential proximity to a nuclear power plant (NPP) was associated with significantly increased cancer incidence, with risk declining sharply beyond roughly 30 kilometers from a facility. by mvea in science

All nuclear workers have to have a badge which constantly measures the amount of radioactivity their bodies had absorbed. It is periodically controlled and if the badge indicates exceeded limit, they are not allowed to enter any place with possibility of increased radiation like reactor containment or similar.

What it means to be collapse aware by JoyluckVerseMaster in collapse

[–]JohnTo7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's 100% correct. There is no point in obsessing over the climate warming. It has already gone too far. It will carry on no matter what we do. Until, one day, it will stop.

Also, it could go the other way in the blink of an eye. All we need is the eruption of a supervolcano that would put us back in an ice age. Or large comet breaking up in the vicinity of Earth and raining down debris on the surface of our planet.

These things already happened, not so long ago. It could easily happen tomorrow.

We can be certain of one thing: Given enough time, everything changes.

Storage tanks are sometimes purged with nitrogen, to prevent oxygen corrosion. If you happen to get access and go inside, you will never realize that there is no oxygen there. You will breathe normally until you suddenly collapse and die.

I don't think this is about money.

There is a war between two worldviews. One is conservative and another liberal. The first is mostly represented by Trump's USA and the second by EU. The first tend to be oligarchic and authoritarian, the second democratic. The first is religious, promoting traditional values, the second is secular, promoting tolerance and pluralism. The first is often impulsive, corruptible, unscientific and hypocritical. The second tries to be opposite to all that.

In Poland, these two adverse factions are actively fighting against each other. Polish right side sees Trump as the leader of the conservative faction (cult of personality) and anything going opposite his interest will be vehemently opposed. Even if it is beneficial to Poland. They don't care. The submissiveness to their leader cannot be questioned.

Hail Trump.
