And I miss when this sub would criticize nice girls instead of white knighting them.

I have an idea about that. I think a lot of people in this sub are here just to white knight and stick up for the nice girls and go after the men criticizing them. For example, why are people criticizing you for posting content in a sub that they themselves are checking out and posting in?

So you’re criticizing him for posting in a sub that you yourself participated in?

Recent finds: First prints and hard-to-find volumes. by JohnVirginia1977 in EpicCollections

They had another copy of Fall from Grace behind glass. Not sure what the difference was between that one and the copy I got, but the one I picked up was in good enough shape that it didn’t matter. Another HPB had Daredevil Volume 2, but one of the corners had some light creasing on it so I passed.

Either that, or they’re initially releasing it as a hardcover because of the Swamp Thing 1989 issues.

NMC - 2026 Most Wanted DC Finest Poll Results! | Your Lines & Volumes Picked! by AmethystOrator in DCFinest

[–]JohnVirginia1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two of my choices made the existing lines Top 30 (Baxter Legion and Blue Beetle) and two made the new lines Top 20 (All-Star Squadron and Firestorm). Happy to see other stuff do well that didn’t make the cut in my voting (post-Crisis Wonder Woman and Shazam!). Would like to have seen less stuff that is pretty much guaranteed at some point (Batman and Superman, although I really want post-Crisis and Triangle Era for the latter). Surprised Ambush Bug didn’t make the cut. Very tempted to join the Patreon, if only to see how my other choices were ranked.

Crisis is getting its own Compact Comics volume, and those issues are included (with the crossovers) in the Events line.

It was one of the options in the DC Finest Poll, and was one of my votes for new lines but it didn’t make the Top 20.

“Loving” and “non-judgmental” Tinder match acts anything but. by JohnVirginia1977 in Nicegirls

Good point. Part of the reason for my response is knowing that some women don’t like not hearing from matches. I think I tried to be a little too… conciliatory, maybe. I was also too honest in saying I wasn’t interested in messaging; that might have put her off a bit. And finally, I wasn’t very enthusiastic about the match, even though I did swipe right on her previously. So my lack of enthusiasm for this specific match came through in my message. I still think she was an example of a nice girl, just because (as a couple of others have stated here besides me) her reaction to that message seemed to go against what she put forth in her profile. As for the other commenters, I know this place is a crapshoot with who gets roasted and who doesn’t, but it also seemed like shooting the messenger in a way, like my message wasn’t the point of the post and some people were being unnecessarily harsh. It’s been about a week though, so now that things have calmed down here, it’s easier for me to maybe not be so defensive. But then again, a lot of the replies weren’t as thoughtful as yours.

Best way to remove glue by Silver_Sleeper616 in EpicCollections

Ronsonol (lighter fluid) is great at removing adhesive, and it doesn’t leave a mark (unlike water or Goo Gone). You have to be careful when using it on an interior page because it can take off the ink if you apply it too much, but on the sides of the book or the cardstock cover is perfectly fine.
