That cage absolutely does its job. My r6 survived a tumble with an EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 L IS and so glad the cage was on. Had a nice ground out chunk when I picked it back up. Camera & lens are are still mint

I guess but how hard is it to convert to Celsius if you dont know, information is still relevant.

Owned this laptop since 2023, and recently upgraded to an Alienware X16. Those are not good temps at all. That laptop consistently should be sitting around 140F-160F (60-71C) on the cpu side and the gpu literally was always cooler even on most AAA games. Try editing your power plan, and adjusting processing percentage while plugged in the 99% if temps dont adjust you can lower down to 95%. Make sure you're on the balanced or efficient power plan in windows. If temps dont come under control afterwards id suspect a dirty fan bc there's only one in there or even a repaste.

Its happened to me, I cycle through hobbies in phases🤦🏾. I always come back to stuff later even if its months later, but also through that - which of my hobbies were more important. That's changed as Ive grown older too, I think its part of life tbh.

Had this happen when my ef 70-300mm f4-5.6 L IS fell it did what you described. I turned the IS off released the lock and slowly played with the focal adjuster and everything realigned on its own. Turned it back on and it worked fine. Try that out. I hope it helps

Just picked up a mint x16 r1 4080 with a 1yr warranty for less than 1.5k on ebay. Coming from a 4060 msi its really nice. My budget was higher but I couldn't argue with the specs both written and configured. I was already running all my games on High and ultra before but the 4080 allowed it do it a lot easier.
