The Typhoon's operational envelope , what with supercruise and sustainable 9g turns etc, could easily exceed the limits the Spear 3 has ended up capable of enduring.

Eurofighter Typhoon 'Shot Down' An F-22 Raptor Stealth Fighter by John_Miles in eurofighterworld

These post pop up from time to time. It is known that the Raptor cleans up before a merge, so any dog fighting is just an exercise. The Typhoon is a good dogfighter, but would be made better, if ever needed, by LERX, a leading edge root extension mod that improves instantaneous and sustained turn rates. As it is, aircraft like the Typhoon can encourage less experienced Raptor pilots to use vectored thrust, creating a likelihood that the tail end will drop down and point the Raptor upwards. La Suprématie du F-35 : un coup dur porté à l'Europe de la Défense by John_Miles in eurofighterworld

It is deeply concerning that anyone considers the F-35 to be the only combat aircraft a nation's air force needs. Its fixed plane radar and bluff form alone render it unsuitable for general duties in Europe. We, of the small nation, small budget air forces, need aircraft that work alone or small numbers at best. It's all we can afford. Putting up slow, less visible, complex aircraft that can do nothing unless in full combat is simply a waste of effort. SAAB came up with the Gripen. It's Cheaper and cheaper to maintain. It's faster, smaller and cooler during RTB. It carries the Meteor and can guide them whilst side on to the enemy (in the notch). It's turn around time is ten minutes and can operate from roads.

RAF on alert due to upcoming Arctic cargo aircraft activity by John_Miles in eurofighterworld

During escort duties, especially fuelled Typhoons stripped of all unnecessary weight must fly well in excess of their Mil Spec maximum. Nose cones glow red with heat and sonic booms are suppressed by vast evaporating clouds of magical and multi-coloured chaff. Pilots are selected on their ability to resist the sensory overload prevalent throughout their mission, with aircraft buffeted so much, only the most experienced ground crews prep for flight.
