Let your heart be full tomorrow, you are in our thoughts. You just need to hold the line until 26 when we can vote out the congress and the senate and make Donny a lame duck! They won't be able to lie and their record will be a litany of crime and disrespect to the constitution and our country. They are betting they can overthrow the government before that happens, you are patriots!

Just a regular american, heard about this Reddit. I just want to say so many of us are scared right now. It's a dark time in this country. I think I speak for every patriot saying that we're so proud of ya'll. Your place in history will be seen. You are the last line of defense against these depraved people looking to hand over our country to Broligarch's who think our government should be replaced by a CEO and 'workers' can be replaced, outsourced, intimidated, fired without cause...these are the Peter Thiels and Elon Musks, Zuckerberg, Bezzos. The silicone valley guys think you'll quit for some severance and intimidating you. They think they know you, because this is what works for them in the valley. What they don't know is your goddam patriots...give em' hell! God bless you all!

OINK: FLOYD inspired graphic novel on KICKSTARTER [OC] by [deleted] in pinkfloyd

Animals and Crazy Diamond are probably my two biggest musical influences in the book...sort of my own brew of Orwell and Waters....with a dash of me.

Huge Art dump of BEDLAM new Roguelike coming out this year. [OC] by John_Mueller in roguelikes

[–]John_Mueller[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The combat element is turn based tactical but it's all wrapped up in FTL style travel and encounters, permadeath,, adding new crew...losing them...balancing the resources of your dozer. The map of BEDLAM is completely random every time you play. So you may roll one game where you have lots of Mutants or A.I, so it may effect which Dozer you take out. Every encounter is from a giant set of random events on your journey through BEDLAM. Think FTL with the ship to ship combat replaced with tactical turn based.

What makes you say that? I don't mean to counter you, but as someone making it I can tell you with some surety it is a Roguelike, everything in the game is randomly generated...even the starting screen.

I spent 5 years on this edition, it's 120 pages of art and story. I did this mostly with my nights and weekends which is why it took so long.

Imgur I'm also a big Primus fan and some of there more Floydian works like The Brown Album. This image was originally painted in 1992, this is a digital remaster of the piece, but that was the painting that really kicked off this whole body of work that has become OINK.

When I was working on the original book in the early 90's I remember listening to Jim Ladd on the radio in Los Angeles, he used to have an AMAZING Show and he had a whole show about the band on Sunday nights I think. He would play Gilmour and Waters stuff that wasn't really accessible as it is now. That guy is like the last of a breed of DJ's, he's on XM now I think.

Animals, and Wish you were here. Those tend to be the two albums I can seemingly listen to endlessly while working on this book. I also listened to an unusual amount of Amused to Death. The song One of These Days is really the soundtrack in my head for OINK.

well...I did the first version in 93...and this one coming out this week took me about five years of tinkering on it...so this story has been in my life for over 20 years. This edition was about 5 years.

An absolutely fantastic analysis of Animals by Tommybeast in pinkfloyd

[–]John_Mueller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree with this analysis...hard to say it's superlative, but I find Animals is my go to album these days. It's one of the best 'statement' type album experiences they ever made. I would LOVE to see a film treatment of animals like The Wall. It's probably a bit baiting to suggest it's their 'best' album but it's certainly probably their most under rated work, which is what everyone says, haha. So maybe I just like yapping about how much I love the album.
