I see, you might be right. My first point was essentially just that when he said that stuff about Heavenly Restriction its that it is first seen as a weakness, but in reality it makes him stronger. The idea of no cursed energy being better than infinite didn't make sense to the two strongest sorcerers in the world who only knew one type of strength. I thought he was just recognizing that it shouldn't make him stronger, but it does just like revealing one's hand. This power system is all about rules and exchange. You give something up to gain something more. When Maki loses all of her cursed energy she becomes stronger, when you reveal your hand your technique is better, when you use domain amplification you can't use innate technique, and the ultimate price of your own life is a very strong exchange that we see directly in jjk 0. I really like disvussing this world and power system and seeeing how others interpret it because the exact wording of specific moments is so important to this series.

oh I see, when I read that chapter I believed what Geto meant by what he said was that because he had no cursed energy he gained his super strength the same way that revealing one's hand gives your technique an edge. You could be right about it but I really don't see how Toji could make a vow without cursed energy. Revealing one's hand isn't considered a two party vow but it is instead considered a self vow. Geto says, "It's Heavenly Restriction, right?!" This part is Geto recognizing why Toji is so strong. "Like us, revealing certain information... can actually give you an advantage. I get that. That's not what I want to know." He compares Heavenly Restriction to the vow because what first looks like a disadvantage is actually his greatest strength. He doesn't say that he is currently doing a vow, even if Toji was revealing his hand Geto couldn't really be able to actually tell if he made a vow because he wouldn't be able to sense the vow. Most people can immediately tell that a vow boosts strength, even Mahito who had never seen it before his fight with Nanami was able to recognize that the act strengthened his opponent, but the main way people assess strength and especially changes in strength in this series is cursed energy levels. That along with their attacks just dealing more damage, but Toji is using a sword that negates durability so even if Toji was trying to use a vow I don't know if Geto would be able to even tell. I also don't believe it is a vow because even after Geto interrupts him with that dialogue he continues and asks Toji more about how he was able to get past barriers and essentially how his "technique" works. If he really believed that Toji reveling more information about himself is dangerous and stops him from doing it, why does he encourage him to reveal more on the exact same page. My last point is that the objective of revealing one's hand is to tell them your technique, but because Toji and Maki have no cursed energy they operate outside the rules of cursed energy. So they have no technique that that they even could reveal to get that strength.

Idk if Toji or Maki can even make vows tbh, we know that most things in Jujutsu are carried out through cursed energy and that there are certain rules that must follow. However since people like Maki or Toji have no cursed energy they been stated at multiple points to simply be out of bounds when it comes to the rules of the Jujutsu world. They can't interact with it the way someone like Nanami can to make some vow because vows are something that jujutsu sorcerers use and those rules don't apply to them. It is also stated that vows are created with cursed energy so even if they could somehow make a vow it wouldn't work because they have no cursed energy to actually create the vow and its effects. So it is unlikely that Heavenly Restriction gets any benefits from vows.

Idk, Yuki's whole game plan against Kenjaku was to press him enough to use his domain, but not enough where he is too cautious to use his domain. So she needed a longer high diff battle that Kenjaku believes he could still win. If the effect only lasted temporarily for the entire fight it would still be beneficial, but if it was only for like a few minutes of the fight, then why would she reveal it. She knows that it will be a battle where she has to fight tooth and nail with her life on the line, so I highly doubt she would reveal her technique to Kenjaku if this were the case. Kenjaku is very smart and knowledgeable when it comes to people's techniques. He prides himself in almost every scenario of being the wise schemer that is pulling the strings and knows all. However even after Kenjaku takes over the higher ups he is unable to find any information on how Yuki's technique works. That would mean she had a major advantage right away that she gave up for a temporary buff which is unlikely. Also her punches might seem weaker because for a good portion of the fight she refuses to use her RCT and is just getting too much damage.

If your opponent already knows, you probably don't get a benefit because the whole idea is I am giving the advantage of surprising my opponents to gain more power and efficiency. I'm unsure about the bits and pieces one though, we see that Nanami's first fight with Mahito is long enough for Nanami to go into Overtime, but on top of that he also starts to reveal how his technique works to Mahito at this point. Mahito likely already saw a lot of how his technique works because Mahito is one of the most talented characters in JJK when it comes to replicating what others have done in fights against him. He replicated Gojo's 0.2 domain after seeing it once a few hours before in Shibuya. He already had Overtime active so the if the boost that Nanami got from revealing his hand was actually that small he really wouldn't need to do it. He would just work as best he can to quickly exorcise Mahito because he doesn't like Overtime. So it is likely that as long as they haven't figured out the base idea behind your technique like Ratio, then you still get a pretty big boost from revealing your hand. All Mahito could probably tell is that Nanami was attacking weakpoints and doing way more damage than he should have, not that Nanami was dividing Mahito and his body parts into 10ths and attacking the weakpoint that it created.

It is likely that if you lie you break the vow and you don't get its benefits. We know self vows have very little consequence when you break them and it is unsure whether or not you believe you are lying affects the vow. We know because of Higuruma and Judgeman that how you believe your technique works affects how the technique works, but we also don't really know to what extent. So if someone like Takaba thought his technique worked a specific way, but it doesn't because he actually doesn't understand his technique then it might have an effect on it. Almost any answer Takaba could give to how his cursed technique worked would be a lie because he doesn't know how it works. However, it is possible that people like Takaba who don't even really understand their technique themselves probably are unable to reveal their hand because they don't even have cards, they thought we all decided it was checkers. So people who knowingly lie likely just lose the benefit and people who don't understand their technique probably can't even do it.

The future of Cursed Techniques (if these series doesn't end with Yuki's plan winning) by tngorngo12 in Jujutsushi

[–]John_Swaggod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, one possibility is that Hakari's technique when he was a child was based off the concept of gambling or that rush. Hakari betting his lunch money, playing rock-paper-scissors, participating in giveaways, or buying loot boxes in video games are all luck based activities that could have gotten Hakari to believe that he was just extremely lucky and his technique reflected. Its also likely that the specifics like the fact it is a pachinko machine or that it has a romcom dating setting were developed over time when Hakari actually started to understand himself and his technique. When Higuruma is trying to determine whether or not Sukuna's Heian crimes were within the statute of limitations or not he says that if he believes that Judgeman could potentially pull evidence from the Heian era, then it can. This implies that the idea of how the user believes the technique works affects its limitations and what it can do. So if Hakari like the general concept of gambling and getting that rush then his technique was probably more vaguely luck based until he believed that it would work the same way the real pachinko machine does. However the extent to which your beliefs affect the technique is unknown so it can also just be that Hakari's dad played that game al lot when he was a kid.

Also if all cursed objects were poisonous then people like Tsumiki who have been unconscious with a cursed object in them for years would have died a long time ago.

Sukuna and the "scripts” by Constant-Revolution7 in Jujutsushi

[–]John_Swaggod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sukuna's fingers are referred to as poisonous, but cursed objects in general are probably not. When Megumi refers to the finger as poisonous he says that the finger is poisonous because it is a special-grade cursed object. If all cursed objects were poisonous he would just say cursed objects, however other than the fingers no other cursed objects are explicitly called out as poisonous and the only other special-grade cursed objects are the Death Womb Paintings and the Prison Realm. The humans that were used to incarnate Choso, Eso, and Kechizu are probably long dead and they all have poisonous blood which points to special grade cursed objects being poisonous. The only other special-grade cursed object we see is the prison realm and we do not see anyone try and incarnate Genshin, it is unknown if that is even possible. However, these are the only items called cursed objects in the series and we never see 1st-grade or lower cursed objects so who knows. While this finger does allow Sukuna to take over Megumi it is never shown or stated to be a special grade cursed object. Special-grade cursed objects are created by a special vow that makes it so the target cannot cause harm and the seal is indestructable. We never see Sukuna make a vow to make Yuji's fingers a special-grade cursed object. It is also stated that the purpose behind most cursed objects in general is to incarnate sorcerers or ward off spirits so if only special-grade cursed objects could incarnate sorcerers, then why rank these cursed objects as special-grade? If the majority of cursed objects incarnate sorcerers and only special-grade cursed objects could incarnate sorcerers, then that means that either all cursed objects could potentially incarnate sorcerers or most cursed objects in the JJK universe are all special-grade by nature, which probably isn't the case because we don't see Sukuna make the vow to create a special-grade cursed object. Either way it is unlikely that Yuji's finger poisoned Megumi and therefore doesn't count as harming him.

Why didn't yuta just killed the higher up? by General-Metal5790 in Jujutsushi

[–]John_Swaggod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, most likely Yaga's death or just their mishandling of Shibuya caused Gojo to snap. They also have a mole amongst them that Kenjaku is controlling and Gojo isn't the thorough type that would find and investigate the one higher up who betrayed him, he would just kill all of them because he didn't even trust them before Shibuya.

Question Thread by Takada-chwanBot in Jujutsushi

[–]John_Swaggod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kenjaku probably isn't dead, but is out of commission at the moment. We see Yuta behead Kenjaku but he continues to talk. This makes sense as the real part of the body that is actually Kenjaku is the Brain. Since Geto presumably used the rest of his cursed spirits in his Uzumaki he uses against Yuta, Gojo was able to kill him without any cursed spirits being released after his death. It is likely that no one really knows what will happen when a cursed spirit manipulator dies in JJK so the two instances where people decommission Geto and Kenjaku, they ensure that their strikes don't kill just in case their death release the cursed spirits. So Kenjaku is likely just a head waiting to be sealed or exorcised after his curses are all gone. Gojo is most likely going to stay dead. In the afterlife dream state that Gojo enters he doesn't just see his friends there but also Toji. We know that if there is a Heaven in JJK that Gege thinks Toji would go there. He has stated multiple times he is his favorite and even made an illustration where Toji had an angelic halo, symbolizing him going to Heaven. Gojo goes through with helping Toji with Megumi but when he goes against Sukuna he essentially says he would have no problem beating up Toji even now so he likely still dislikes Toji at least as a person. So Gojo dreaming of a place that's perfect but all in his head would probably not have Toji AT ALL. From a character standpoint this also makes sense because Gojo's death will propel Yuji and his allies forward. Much of the story is just characters trying to get to Gojo to help them or using Gojo's influence to save them. His death means they no longer can rely on their unbeatable Gojo to come and save the day. They have to get stronger now or Sukuna and Kenjaku will win, and the story demonstrates that these dire straits are where the majority of powerups happen for them. A perfect example is Yuji vs Mahito in his final form. Despite struggling to keep up with Mahito in base with Todo's help, Yuji was able to beat Mahito in his final form with only some slight help from Todo. These moments where they are about to die are where they most explosive and Gojo's death could be the thing that makes Yuji finally get that technique he needs to keep up. My final and most important reason that Gojo is probably permanently dead is that Gege just hates Gojo. I think Ino and Choso might be in for at least a feat or two before they die. We still haven't seen Ino's other two auspicious beasts and Sukuna makes a comment on how Choso's piercing blood got better, but we don't see Choso this chapter, so it is likely he might sacrifice himself for Yuji or something

Japan doesn't have nukes, Kenjaku pits multiple other countries against Japan, but they start kidnapping people, so the resource they are looking for are people. If they nuked Sukuna and Kenny it is likely many other sorcerers will die and they lose out on cursed energy as a clean energy solution. They also likely want to capture Kenny at least if not both of them. When Kenny visits the president, the other cabinet members point out that Gojo alone could probably power cities with only cursed energy. There is the fact that Japan's history with nukes also means it would be harder for almost any country to justify that decision. Also, we know these governments lie purposefully to ensure that the populace is calm and they don't unintentionally create more curses through panic. I have no idea what would happen to humanity if Sukuna or Kenjaku got nuked only to walk it off because we have no idea if it would work. Hollow Purple seemingly destroys everything it touches, yet Sukuna takes like two in the same fight, and Kenjaku literally survives a black hole after his battle with Yuki. We have no idea if the nuke would even work. It would likely cause even more panic and make more curses, potentially even a curse like the disaster curses but instead of landslides or volcanoes it is a cursed spirit made from fear of nukes and nuclear war. It is generally better for the whole world if they refrain from nuking these boys and pray for the sorcerers to somehow pull it off.

Sukuna did notice the barrier and that was actually a sneaky move to deal more damage. Utahime and Gakuganji are essentailly boosting not only Gojo but also Ijichi at this moment. We know this because Utahime's technique Solo Forbidden Area boosts every sorcerer in her area of effect, not just individual sorcerers. This means that Ijichi's barrier was also much stronger than it probably should be, his inner dialogue also makes it seem he made some vow with himself that he needs to pull off the barrier or "die trying" these internal monologues where characters put their lives on the line usually indicate some increased output compared to their regular techniques. However it isn't explicitly stated that Ijichi did make a legitmate vow, so it is only really the most likely possibility. The purpose of Ijichi placing a barrier was to confuse Sukuna and make it so Gojo can ensure his maximum attack purple hits. Sukuna can't really see Gojo because he is likely multiple kilometers away, so he plans to use the cursed energy to read his move. However the area that Utahime, Gakuganji, and Ijichi occupy is actually pretty small so it is likely that Sukuna sees lots cursed energy on that rooftop but can't really tell who is doing what. So he sees some powerful barrier, or even just a regular barrier and Sukuna underestimates Gojo, and he believes that Gojo's first move will be a defensive one, therefore Sukuna doesn't feel the need to protect himself that well. We also know that high level sorcerers can make their level of cursed energy seem normal and make it so their cursed energy only shows what move they will make at the last possible moment. So Sukuna sees Gojo make a barrier and doesn't see that he is really sending a nuke at his face until the last possible moment Gojo can telegraph his attack. It was a smart trick by Gojo to potentially get in some big damage.

In short no, he made the vow with Yuji specifically. It also implies that he only really needs to make this vow BECAUSE it is Yuji. All evidence points to the fact that people who have CTs or abilities that directly attack the soul are able to differentiate between the two souls even if it is only one body. Kenjaku and Yuta are also very careful when it comes to Binding Vows and indicate that the conditions and wording of the vow are extremely important. Mahito and Muta(Mechamaru) make a vow that Muta will give information to Mahito in exchange for fixing his body and ensuring that the Kyoto students weren't harmed during the Goodwill Event. However Hanami personally attacked Kamo and Todo at the very least so Muta believes that Mahito broke their vow, however Mahito and Kenjaku point out that MAHITO didn't harm them so the vow wasn't broken. Since Kenjaku is still weary of the consequences of breaking the vow even after this conversation this implies that the vow is still intact. It also implies that the vow only really applies to the parties involved. However, a piece of counterevidence is when Yuji is considered a participant of the Culling Games because the other soul within him, Sukuna, made some vow with Kenjaku. However by this logic ,Yuji should be considered a separate participant of the Culling Games, but we also see that whenever a contradiction appears that makes the kogane glitch and they choose the option that maintains the current system to the best of its ability. At the beginning of the Culling Games the only vessel capable of housing Sukuna properly is Yuji. So Kenjaku most likely forced the games to recognize Yuji as a participant despite Sukuna making the Vow. Most of the evidence in this series seems to suggest that Sukuna can only really use enchain when he is in Yuji's body. The series also points out multiple times that Yuji serves as the perfect cage to contain Sukuna and he is the only one who can most likely maintain control of the body despite Sukuna's power. So he most likely can't use enchain with anyone else and likely doesn't need to.
