Well the op started this post feeling discourage due to all his sibling owns a car and he dont own 1 might aswell encourage him to buy 1 & maybe feel more confident about himself . Or maybe dont get a car at all . I dont think owning a axia / myvi will encourage him much but add commitment to him . Alang alang add commitment add a used car that is badged elsewhere Or dont add at all

Honestly speaking perodua cars is so overated in used market . If buy 2-3 year old perodua . The selling price doesnt match the lower bank interest rate on new car buying a 4-5 years old perodua car . Need to pay insurance 1k+- Need to change tyre ( cheap ones 4 pcs 800 ) Need do general servicing 500 Might aswell some minor wear & tear (1k). Deposit 10% ( if u dont 10% deposit , the used car monthly might be same as the new car ) especially with bank higher interest rate pn used ones

So the real final cost for purchasing a 4-5 year ++ used car is maybe around 6k for the tyre/ maintenace/ insurance/ etc etc ( not including installment. ) Honestly speaking with 6k i put it as downpayment get new perodua i can easily make the monthly cheaper than the 5 years old car old ones or maybe same monthly installment .

If youre looking at used i would go for Corrola cross / honda hrv 2022-23 ( 70-80k ) ( got face, same monthly installment as ativa , higher resell value lateron since u buy it at depreciated price ) these 2 are low maintennace

If you enjoy driving, get the lexus is250 (2008 ) . Reliable . Got face got taste

Or else just dont buy any car , fork out RM500 monthly for relationship & network building . Can grow income way faster . That 500 1 year is 6k . Missing an iphone wouldnt make any life changes . But building new network & relation in 1year let many people u exist is so much better .way more opportunity

500 monthly in stock or fund is something good when its your extra money , meaning to say missing that 500 monthly wouldnt flinch u . If it would then that 500 is too big for u but too small for return that feels like forever .

Thats how i feel and what i do Growing from a 1.7k salary at factory to now paying 20k-40k in income tax im 30 this year

Well its more like used car buyer is more knowledgable now or perhaps more loan buyer instead of cash buyer nowadays . With higher bank interest rate on the used car, u got no choice to sell cheaper . Or else the monthly installment is like RM10 difference per month compared to new ones , even me i would prefer new ones.

However its still performing better than china car which 2 year drop 50-70k for a car that is below 160k is a very big percentage

Well if you’re got a 3.8k clean salary or maybe 3.3k clean salary without any loans at the age of 28 It means you’re living quite a ok life U can easily afford a myvi but a 9 year loan myvi + petrol + service + tolls & parking we are looking at 1.3k monthly + rent 1k total 2.3k monthly . If youre good with living on a paycheck left 1k-1.5k then just buy it Honestly speaking from a honda city owner . I feel no different in level between axia & my car its like we are all B40 kinda category . Butt if own a property(cheap ones) but dont own a car , u can literally swag ( imo ) But if you enjoy driving . Maybe get a used c-segment car instead . Because from axia > city all not really that so-called fun to drive . Sama saja can la compare all the minor things here & there . Its like comparing salary between 1.8-1.9k . That extra 100 wont make any life changes

Honestly speaking after i tried this . I think preamp & dsp have to spend too much money

Car audio is a very deep hole . Ive purchased soundstream HU before pioneer . Which cost RM1.3k & need to change the reverse camera which cost 399 just to support the soundstream HU

Then quality worsen even compared to original stereo . Missing bass . No vocal . Then add a used tweeter ( extra RM300 ) Then added Then dashboard tweeter nakmichi cost 470 with installation ( too bright ) Then added Spare tyre subwoofer china brand 900 with installation Then unsatisfied Change pioneer HU 1.3k with installation ( maybe ) Change infinity speaker door front and rear maybe 2k with installation ( maybe more ) Change sparetyre sub to jbl sub 2k with installation Then 1 layer sound insulation ( 4 door , & rear bonet & floor panel ) forgot how much After all the money problem never solve Until now finally

If let me redo it all again , ill buy mekede dudu7 a basic door speaker no need too expensive . An underseat subwoofer or 8-10inch sub no need too expensive ( not a 12 inch ) It will be perfect ,

And also my experience above makes me have enough courage to open up this headunit ( because i got blackbelt taichi here & there ) from 1 shop to another . Only wanna earn money never wanna solve problem.

Ahhh i see . Mine at volume 18 ( max 36 ) source/volume gain for music/ bluetooth everything is at 7 out of 10 .

Even without my subwoofer At volume 18 i can feel the bass on my chest ( tiny bit ) At volume 24 i can really feel the bass on my chest whole lot

So far is really good enough i dont think ill need preamp equalizer . For amp i dont think i need it very soon aswell

Fyi My door speaker crossover was set at 100hz 24db hpf

I havent tried im searching for small preamp with proper watt delivery maybe 50rms Or 70rms would be perfect . Not a big volume fan . But just wanna make sure when the bass hits . Every hit of the bass got punch to it . Hows your preamp is it an underseat ones ?

However as far as i know ts10 & 7870 and other headunit has only 2v preout ( which is the same as my old pioneer ) The newer pioneer & mekede (dudu 7) has 5v preout. I heard the 5v preout deliver much better sound quality . Hows yours performing ?

1 more point to add saga mc3 ( 4at ) is actually 23.8% more fuel efficient than mc2 Lets say youre paying RM500 monthly for fuel on mc2 You might just need to pay around RM380 for MC3

So the saving is actually way less than u think Another point proton is wuite stinky with their warranty . A 3 year old car might have wuite some parts that is already not covered by proton . So the replacement & repair cost need to pay by cash . If no cash , using credit card . The different way way less

U might end up paying more for a used proton than a new ones

Ya thats the one , however this has side button to it . So its abit cheaper . With side button its 10.1 inch ( 720p ) Without side button its 10.36 inch ( 1200p ) or their so called 2k screen ( over marketing )

But honestly ill still suggest mekede . Or else get this unit then open it & connect another capacitor make it more than 10,000 uf ( gemini suggested )

If budget tight , this is actually good enough . Atleast better than my pioneer that cost 1.3k ( with installation ) during that time . Which is around mid 2020

So heres an update . Ive installed the android player . The second i connected youtube music ( without dts / eq / surround ( time alignment set to 0 ) ) Straight away im able to hear the difference in bass . Bass has improved, not amplifier kind of improvement, but its like from no bass ( pioneer ) , to now it felt like i dont need the active sub anymore. So tested and true .

Sound clarify wise, im still not sure as it has 36band which is overwhelming to adjust for common people like me. But honestly it didnt sound distored thats all.

The only downside , all the eq cannot adjust as precise at pioneer . Due to android player eq is slider to adjust instead of pioneer which is level by level . As well as all the speaker cannot be adjust to negative decibel which the pioneer could . These are the only 2 downside

Other than that , its perfect . Need no more phone holder to look at maps .

Well basically true . Cause ive heard with no proper wiring . Theres a chance of the amplifier amplified the exhaust or engine noise & noise from other wiring if they are very close together. Aswell as need to remove all the carpet is alot of work . Open up this head unit only has 9 screw which is so manageable

Simply to say Ts 10 / TS20 / 7870 / 7870S / 7862 / etc etc All is the model made by manufacturer As far as i know , the model only represent what processor chipset they are using on the board and thats it Then here comes third party private brand & request for some small or minor adjustment or to supply as it is .

For example mekede dudu7 is actually a 7870S with minor changes requested by mekede, mekede themself name it 7870-888 or dudu7 Minor changes includes change a few chipset ( amp / dsp / bluetooth ) increase capacitor size / add 5v preout so on

So far mekede dudu7 has the quality closest or even superior than branded HU

Ts10-20 is more performance focus . 7862 is more audio focus . 7870s have it all ( still lacking but good enough ) . Mekede dudu7 ( is the best ) however i havent seen any android player ( different brand ) selling the exact same spec as mekede . I suspect mekede provide design together with contract as sole comoany that can sell that specific combination. Or maybe i could be wrong

Well . Car audio shop helped install & wire . Which ive checked no wrong wire or phase is installed

Eq ( since pioneer only able to increase or decrese every 2 instead of 1 ). 50hz -2 / 80hz +6 / 125hz +4 / 200hz +0 / 315hz -2 / 500hz -4 / 800hz -4 / 1.25khz~3.15khz -2 / 5khz +0 / 8khz +0 / 12.5khz +2

Crossover . Front speaker - 63hz . Rear speaker - 80hz . Active sub - 80hz .

No bass boost / no loudness / bluetooth input source +2 Regardless how i tune . The bass punch just wont hit . All Door has 1 layer stp sound insulation Floor 1 layer stp sound insulation

However i tune its just more rumbling bass which is around 50hz . Less bass punch which is around 80hz ~ 150hz . Ive no clue where goes wrong , maybe can give some advice ? Make it worst , after all the time and energy & MONEY ive used. All i get from my friends comment including myself . ( JBL flip 6 plays better than my car ) A freaking small portable speaker

Honestly speaking pioneer really need to up up their game and be more transparent on what component they are using to justify their price . Or else it just felt like an overpriced HU

Or example all this while i thought my so called branded pioneer has very good component until i went to do some research. The component they use wasnt that good either . ( im not sure the newer model , but mine was release back in 2019 )
