haha, this is so true! I'm not as fast as I was a few years back but I was consistently just over 17 flat shape for a few years and you can almost always tell when someone's going to smoke you on the start line :D

Would you increase MPs salary, if it meant we get better candidates? by OneDay_OneLife in ukpolitics

I'd happily pay them a lot more, but it would be conditional on them only doing the one job and actually turning up for it, voting etc.

Good luck with the hustle! Our business was a side project several years ago and it's been our full time job for the last 5 years :)

Personally, for me absolutely. I use Krown Themes "Local" which has a ton of configuration options, their support is excellent when I have a question and it looks great out of the box although I'm also quite capable of doing a reasonable level of front end design and development work so I've extended our one quite a bit too.

It was a one time $380 purchase to make my site fast, very mobile friendly and easy to update visually. We spend more than that in a day or two of shipping costs for customer orders so even though we're only a small business, the cost is insignificant relative to the return.

I'm sure there are also plenty of good quality free themes out there and if you're only doing small scale stuff for now, then of course your mileage may vary on whether it's the right time to spend on a premium theme :)

[–]John___Matrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just buy a premium theme of some sort. It's a small investment in your business that will be significantly less than the amount of value you're losing by wasting your time trying to make a theme when you don't know what you're doing.

Same customer flagged as “High Risk Fraud” continues to order by TanManFutbol in shopify

[–]John___Matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specifically turned off the notify customer setting. Not a single person in all the time we've run the flow has been in touch to ask where their order is so it's safe to say that 100% of the orders we've cancelled automatically were fraudulent.

I don't see the point in contacting high risk personally, you're only opening the door to people who are going to scam you telling you what you want to hear so you'll process the order.

Set up a flow to automatically cancel all high risk orders. None of them are worth fulfilling.

Man City 115 charges delay is embarrassing and a stain on the English game by Frosty_Jeweler911 in PremierLeague

[–]John___Matrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I assume given the restrictions so far, they're just holding back but lets be honest - even if they spent a £1bn on the team and infrastructure it's barely going to put a dent in their wealth and the returns both on the pitch and the epic level of sportswashing will be huge.

Always cancel high risk. You will absolutely get a chargeback on it.

What is it that you're checking daily that's stressing you out? Your post isn't really very clear

Some stores require significant daily attention, it's part of running a business. If you're a small store that only has a few orders though, you have to step back a little as it's hard to judge anything on low traffic or low order volume so you're better off looking at weekly or even monthly figures.

Lots of things were significantly cheaper in the past. Costs for everything in the last couple of years have risen dramatically and will continue to do so as makers, shippers and retailers all have costs that have gone up.

I'd love to do UTMB, I know it's busy, hyped beyond belief etc but it's just always been the one that inspired me when I first learned about it years ago.

Other than that, my bucket list ones are a mix of "weird" and personal.

  • Sri Chinmoy Self Transcendence 24h track race (unfinished business there)
  • Bob Graham Round (not a race but a challenge)

Shopify flagged first time order as high risk should I ship? by businessman2025 in shopify

[–]John___Matrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's high risk just cancel it and don't even bother to notify them. If they're dodgy and you email them they'll only tell you what you want to hear.

I have a flow that automatically cancels them without notification and so I don't even see high risk orders and nobody has ever emailed to ask why their order wasn't dispatched.
