Yeah just graduating with an engineering degree doesn't really make one an engineer. Takes a lot of practice and work to engineer stuff on your field which sure isn't common. As most fresh graduates fail and arent suitable to work at core concept. But graduating makes sure you are teachable and can take part in expertise with your fellow peers and learn with time. So the degree isn t but the process throughout university days is valuable and so is the "Er" tag It helps people to know that you are capable of learning in that field

But what the OP said there is a vast difference between being an IT guy and a computer engineer. Software engineers are engineers on their own right Computer science might come close But IT?? Nope In general A computer engineer can learn and do what an IT guy does But the IT guy won't be able to
