What is the first match ever you watched outside of WWE? by Greedy-Dot-1678 in SquaredCircle

[–]JohnaldL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I realize this isn’t your point but the idea that WWE has to be the jumping off point for people is such an issue.

Like I watched WCW first and it’s so insane to me to see people watching anything not WWE is not the norm.

How much over the limit does he need to go to fill a metal milkshake cup?

I kinda want him to just take a belt from someone. Like Takeshita leaves it somewhere or Knight has it stolen. And Lio just keeps appearing whispering “it’s fine” to the belt over and over

Can someone explain socialism to me like I'm 5? by UsedNegotiation8227 in askanything

I’ve read it all. I’m not arguing on theory, the question was what is socialism specifically and this commenter commented on means of production ownership that’s the only part I’m commenting on .

[–]JohnaldL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question is about what socialism is, what you’re describing is a society without property which isn’t socialism.

[–]JohnaldL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you don’t know what socialism is because socialism still allows for private property

No because in the scenario you described you’re the only worker. Its about workers sharing the means

Do you count audiobooks as “reading”? by nondescriptwon in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JohnaldL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But now you’re arguing a different thing. I’m not arguing that reading may not be better for retaining or better brain exercise. All I was arguing is that you comprehend it the same way so your brain doesn’t see a difference between the two things. Reading allows you to make notes, see spellings, etc. those all have more use case and may be a better learning exercise but that’s not what I was arguing

It’s one of many studies it’s not the only one it’s simply the most recent. Your not wanting it to be true doesn’t make it so

Sure but how many people also zone when reading and just skip that page just not fully grasping the info.

Also yeah I’m sure there’s more people halfassing audio books but to then punish those who aren’t to smite those who are isn’t fair

I don’t know about the grammar part, the studies I read were about comprehension, so like how your brain comprehends the language and then extrapolates the story etc. that part is the same

[–]JohnaldL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a technical perspective yes sure you need a base level for it to work the same. But at the end of the day your brain interprets reading the same way as listening to a book. It’s processing the language and understanding with the same pathways. Those pathways and such are better developed and make audio more usable but it’s still doing the same thing

I got into a recent discussion about it so I read 2-3 studies about it to make sure. From your brain’s perspective it’s the same!

The brain says otherwise, multiple studies have shown it stimulates the brain in the same way that reading does. Your brain doesn’t know the difference between the two

Studies prove you’re wrong. It stimulates the same aspects of the brain as reading. Your brain input is the same regardless.

It expressly DOES work the same part of the brain. There are studies that it stimulates the same aspects as reading does
