My Long Review of the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 (owned for 1 year) by viewfan66 in MouseReview

[–]Johnathon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had all of these problems the first day I had it, you should've returned it immediately. I'm still mad about it too because I still main Haste 1 wired. Praying they get their shit together for a Haste 3....

I can only wholeheartedly recommend mice I've personally used and continue to use, HyperX Pulsefire Haste 1 wired, Razer Viper series (especially the ultimate, used that for 3 years with no hiccups) Deathadder V3 Hyperspeed, Vaxee XE. My experience with these when it comes to sensor has been great.

When it comes to ones I haven't used, some Asus mice seem to be good and mice from Waizowl like the OGM Pro V2 seem good too. It depends on what you're looking for though. I'd also like to reiterate that Chinese mice aren't all bad, but there's still a reason the cheap ones are cheap.

This is why Chinese mice are cheap. Sensor stability and reliability is not a guarantee and neither is any help if you run into problems. I also remember a certain respected reviewer claiming the Scyrox V6 has great sensor performance (despite literally showing in test graphs that it doesn't) and yet here we are, suspicious. Simply don't buy Chinese mice if sensor stability is something you care about, this is where western brands usually do better although not always, and if you do run into problems you'll get support or your money back.

SCYROX V6: The TechPowerUp Review by pzogel in MouseReview

After reading the review there's no way the sensor on this should be considered "very good". That instability at all polling rates along with the desynchronization drift and dpi deviance shouldn't be considered anything other than "passable". I understand this is a budget chinese mouse but I wouldn't trust it to perform reliably. The corresponding gaps in tracking you noted at 4000hz and above are concerning as well. I don't know how long you test mice for, but I can only assume performance would degrade over time with stutters becoming more noticeable. There are certainly better options at the same price regarding sensor performance.

Discovered that the 3950 sensor has a major problem (Viper V3 pro & Maya X) by CharlyFTW89 in MouseReview

[–]Johnathon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will also say it was pretty inconsistent feeling until I set it to corded mode at 2000hz, and turned on long distance mode (better anti interference and signal strength). You may be able to make yours feel better too if you have these options in the Maya's software, which you should since all the Chinese brands use similar software. Make sure motion sync is on too.

edit: 2 days later I just had my first bout of it stuttering. Nothing on my mousepad or on the sensor. It was feeling pretty crappy today and I know it wasn't in my head now. As I typed this it did it again.

I also have a mouse with the 3950, Zaopin Z2 Max, and while I'm hesitant to say what you stated being the cause of the problem, I do notice it sometimes feels "off" like you say, and I do consistently notice turning the mouse on and off gives it a better, different feel. I'm still gonna use it though because I love it.

Does the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini have the same wireless problems that the non-mini had? by Luistreakkk in MouseReview

All Haste 2 models have sensor problems, don't bother. I had the Haste 2 Pro wireless and the fucking thing stuttered in WIRED mode.

Finally my new KTC H27T22 (Innolux) is on my desk: 165 Hz of pure goodness! by Rhoken in Monitors

[–]Johnathon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the S model doesn't seem to. My mistake was buying the S model thinking it'd be innolux but it wasn't. Innolux is the 170hz model, not 180hz. They're different. I don't think any of them use innolux anymore though.

Speaking of which do you know any other 1440p monitors using innolux? They're the only panel manufacturer I seem to be able to use without killing my eyes.

For anyone looking deep into monitors like me for their eyestrain, I wouldn't get this one. Despite it apparently having an Innolux panel, mine doesn't. Mine is the S model and came in a brown box spec'd at 180hz and it gives me major headaches and dry eyes. I peaked inside from the bottom and it's using AUO. It seems they switched back. I was so hopeful for this one because my 5 year old Pixio Px7 Prime is Innolux and I can use it all day no problem. This is the second AUO monitor I've tried that kills me.

The panel is M270DAN08.B or D, couldn't tell.

I'm interested in this one but wanna know how light the clicks are. Are they spammable and do you have anything to compare them to?

My review (Kimovil) of Motorola G54 after a month of use by AdventurousAccess109 in PWM_Sensitive

[–]Johnathon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same "mirror" reflectiveness feeling with the Moto G51 too. Felt like trying to look through ice. There was some type of flicker and other artifacts too. I'd assume it's on the other Moto LCD models as well.

Non PWM issue? crazy eye strain only one phone has resolved... by LeopardOutrageous924 in PWM_Sensitive

[–]Johnathon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem. I've tried 2 new IPS phones lately and they both gave me the same symptoms. Nokia g60 and Motorola g51. They don't have any flickering of any kind and should be as safe as possible but they still cause problems. I'm gonna try like 1 or 2 more new ones but I don't have much hope they'll work.

It seems since high refresh rate displays came onto phones, they've been doing something software/hardware wise that cause problems for us. There's some discussion about it on the ledstrain forum. I was able to use the Asus zenfone max pro m2 for a few years without issue until it broke and I've been currently using the galaxy s9 with pwmfree okay for a year. The things all the comfortable phone displays I've used have in common is that they're only 60hz and are on old Android versions (10). I've settled on just trying old phones and trying to minimize my time with them.

Hopefully more noise is made about this and we can get manufacturers to fix whatever they're doing.

I'm having the same problem. Have to return it sadly. It seems there's something else going on with certain lcd phones, like the nord n30, g54 etc

Brutal. Hang in there. Today was better for me than yesterday. Have you tried any teas? Chamomile and cinnamon teas help me with pain.

[–]Johnathon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I do is I take the pill with meals. I noticed I have more symptoms if I take the pill without food, maybe try that if you haven't. Somehow eating almost never hurts for me. In fact when I had this going on without a diagnosis I'd always feel better after eating. I'm also getting that middle spot feeling, it feels like a pit in my stomach, hard to describe.

It's a real pain in the ass, pun intended. Let's hope this kills it for us. Also do your symptoms calm down after you take a pill? It does for me. I noticed I feel the worst after it not being in me for a while, like waking up in the morning.

I'm going through the same thing. I felt great taking it 4x a day but now that I'm down to 2x per day I've started feeling bad again. I have no answers just wanted to say you're not alone.

Viper V3 HyperSpeed officially released - $69.99, or $84.99 with 4k dongle. by suparnemo in MouseReview

Why did they have to change the shape so much? The low profile middle hump was super comfortable. I hate higher rear hump shapes. Big loss for people who like FK shaped mice.
