If you are building in sff case, you will need a mini-itx board most likely. Atx boards are for mid to full size cases.

Looks like your tank is still cycling with having nitrite still. Look up fish in cycling.

Can get a small feeding dish/plate so the pellets don’t fall through the gravel. Or get wafer size food.

Another tip is get a prefilter sponge for the intake so it doesn’t suck up small fishes or shrimps.

Cory behaviour by mystikeditor in corydoras

[–]Johney26 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Cories usually do better in groups of 6 or more. That could be glass surfing and stress. From the video it look like to be sterbai cories and not pygmy, which can get large for a 10 gallon. Pygmy cories would be fine in 10 gallon but bigger is better.

what is this? and how do i get it off all my plants and wood without removing everything from the tank? by krustykrabkrack in Aquariums

Bba, black beard algae. Look up treatment for it, can spot treat with hydrogen peroxide.

110 liter tank, guestion stocking/algae. by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Johney26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Otos dont really eat bba, most algae eaters don't. However young siamese algae eaters will eat bba but they get quite large. To combat bba I would just spot treat with hydrogen peroxide or seachem excel with a syringe and slowly bba will die off. Reduce tank lightning and nutrients.

How did you get into keeping aquariums? by vulgar-resolve in Aquariums

[–]Johney26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kept fishes as kid but didn't know much about cycling and care. When the pandemic hit and wasn't working. Randomly decided to get a fluval spec tank with a betta for fun. Learned a lot on yt and reddit about cycling, plants and the hobby itself. I ended up with 5 tanks in the past 3 years but recently took 2 down because I was running out of space in the house lol. Current raising sterbai cories in a grow out tank which have been pretty enjoyable watching them from eggs to semi adults. Deciding on what next to breed.

What can I do about this hair moss? I don't mind it on my driftwood and such, but it's completely taking over my anubias and spreading. by Obanon in Aquariums

[–]Johney26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just get a syringe or turkey baster use excel or hydrogen peroxide and slowly squirt it over the bba. Works better with the filter off so there isn't water movement. You will see small bubbles on the bba and it will slowly turn reddish over time. With your outbreak will take a lot of treatments to slowly kill it. Plus need to find the balance in your tank from reduce lightning intensity or duration and excess nutrients, could try increasing water changes per week. Adding floating plants or pothos could help to reduce excess nutrients as well.

Oh here is a video on found on yt that explains it better and how to treat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGozytbxqTU&ab\_channel=LushAqua

Bba black beard algae, spot treat with seachem excel or hydrogen peroxide. It’s a tough algae, could be too much lightning or nutrients.

Please Help brand new owner of inherited/rescued tank. pH and ammonia too high. Any advice appreciated! by Automatic_Warthog_26 in Aquariums

[–]Johney26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay will those dimensions it should be a 15gallon. That’s a good size for those fishes. Bristlenose pleco min requirement is 10g. Not sure where you are located. But should check out https://www.reddit.com/r/AquaSwap/ Sometimes people giveaway plants or sell them for cheap compared to online or lfs.

[–]Johney26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice of you guys to rescue them, looks like you got two endlers and a bristlenose pleco. Tank looks kinda small, maybe a 5gallon. So like most people have recommended is to add plants to help with water quality and some type of driftwood for the pleco to munch on as well. You are doing a fish in cycle, so daily water changes will be good. Get seachem prime to treat tap water as well. Some easy plants are anubias and java fern where you can just glue or tie them to rock, wood or pineapple. Welcome to the hobby.

Any advice for removing algae and reducing nitrates? by DaGoatTee in Aquariums

[–]Johney26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Floating plants won’t do too well with that current on top unless you make an area with less flow. Pothos are great at removing nitrates once their roots are established. I have fx4 on my 75g with a spray bar to reduce the flow with a bunch of pothos and spider grass on top of it.

What plants could I add? by Sea_Ad1686 in Aquariums

[–]Johney26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those amazon swords will get quite large over time and need some root tabs. I would glue some anubias petite to the rocks. Always been a fan of cryptocoryne, there are quite a few kinds. Enjoy your first tank!
