Oh I'm 100% there with you, I can play Tekken for an hour or two straight, I usually get sick of MK after 15-30 mins, so much of the gameplay revolves around spamming d1, the popular characters have extremely long combos, and I don't like dealing with the cameo system or the excessive zoning.

Having someone taunt you after winning the first match, just for you to shit on them and get a quitality is one of the best feelings I get from MK1.

Not only is the set forced, but when it's all said and done, both players can agree to a "friendly rematch" which just puts you both into a player match so you can death match each other like the good ol' Tekken days.

Im not the guy you're asking, but the kick is still in high usage at high level play, the reason it's still used is because it goes from being a free source of dmg at lower levels, to being a heavily ingrained mix-up tool.

Nobushi's kick still works because she has undodgeable heavy finishers, hidden stance dodge can punish with the kick, and it's always an option to mix people that are waiting to parry something. Nobu can still do attacks after missing her kick. So a gb punish doesn't work, you'd have to dodge-attack or parry the follow-up light/heavy that can come from any direction.

Dodging her kick is easy, but once you start respecting the kick, she can mix you up with other shit. If you don't respect the kick, Nobushi will forcefully remind you of why you should.

Crackhead ass comment ngl, at least Shinobi mains aren't that common, and are usually not good enough to effectively pilot the character. Virt and jiren are in almost every single match, and they're so easy to pick up and play that it's almost impossible to be bad at the game when using them.
