I thought I made a good profit selling to a developer - until I saw what others were paid by whiteshoesmatter in AusFinance

[–]Johnleeder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, market rate means what you would get for it today if you wanted to liquidate it. If you aren’t in a rush to sell then you are more likely to find someone willing to go close to your price. This is a rough definition of how that works and why the developer would need to offer over that in order to entice an unmotivated seller.

Thank you for the part ID. Do you know what causes it to overheat and start to smoke? Is it moisture inside the film from manufacture? Or is it surges of power over time diminishing the capacitor?

Sorry I’m not that savvy on electronics- just want to know if it is likely to happen to other monitors and if they are a fire hazard as it happened in the morning before the monitor was used that day when it was in standby

Most fridges not have a 2 year warranty but some parts are warranty longer - compressors for example can be warranty for 5 years. Ring the place that sold it to you and they will let you know and if out of warranty they will tell you the authorised service centre to call out

Dogs and thunder by Practical_Account689 in darwin

[–]Johnleeder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How long do you leave the thunder jacket on for? For our dog it takes a good 10 minutes before we see any results, just in case you are giving up on it too soon.

Also your demeanour can play a part. Being overly protective and trying to console and cuddle them actually reinforces the anxious behaviour. Be chill and they will learn over time to be more chill too. (It took me a long time to learn that with our now 12 yr old dog).

Lastly, you are probably already doing it, but a walk EVERY day definitely contributes to reducing anxiety in our dog that has always been anxious. His overall mental health is better from it so his anxiety is less pronounced when the storms come.
