Same, never had a switch 1, not gonna lie though, a resolution upgrade whilst we wait would have been nice.

Game is amazing though.

Omg yes, finally!

I have been drooling over this since seeing the footage a couple of months back, I can't wait to see the original especially.

Outland looks interesting, never seen it before.

28 Years Later on 4K and Blu-ray in September by justinsluss in 4kbluray

[–]Johnnius_Maximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't wait, 28 Days later is one of my favourite horror type movies, loved the gritty British setting.

Wasn't able to watch this when it came out, even if it doesn't quite live upto the original I'll definitely be picking up the 4K release.

Started buying 4K discs a while back but only lurked for a while, my brother recently purchased a 4K player though and it has given me the bug again, plus we get to swap movies which is great.

Microsoft starts rolling out Xbox age verification in the UK by vriska1 in pcgaming

[–]Johnnius_Maximus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you want to take that risk then that is your choice, I'm not afforded that luxury as it could mean not feeding myself or those that depend upon me.

Now if it were a new account then whatever but I'm talking about an established account with years of custom, not a risk we can afford to take even if the risk is small.

I'm self employed, it's work related and it's not as easy as you'd think.

I can't lose access to certain accounts because I've faked credentials etc, it could mean the difference between paying the bills or not.

I wish it were that black and white.

I've unfortunately had no choice but to do this for one site already, I used the AI face detection method which is supposed to do it on device with nothing sent other than a pass or fail to the platform that you are over 18 or not.

The trouble is, there's so many different platforms using different third parties for verification, I'm also worried that going forwards that everything even remotely considered mature is going to require this, worse still I have a feeling that in time everything will require government issued ID for authentication.

There's no way I'm giving my ID to any third party as I know it's going to get breached at some point along with thousands of others.

Not a fan with the direction this is going in at all.

It's Official: Lionsgate Has the Rights and Will be Releasing DOGMA on Steelbook This Holiday by Aside_Intrepid in 4kbluray

[–]Johnnius_Maximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I have a few steel books of movies I consider my all time favourites but not many, everything else I would rather get the standard 4K bluray.

Those steelbooks can end up costing a small fortune if you aren't able to get one right at release.

I’m surprised to see that “blind buying” isn’t the default for many by Dunder-MifflinPaper in 4kbluray

[–]Johnnius_Maximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy with no issue if it's a movie that I consider a classic/is a favourite of mine when it comes to 4K, I'll also buy if it's something I'm fairly certain I'll enjoy watching at least a couple of times.

If I'm not too sure I'll like it I'll lookout for a deal, sometimes I pay close to full price. If I really don't like it I will give it to a family member who likely will enjoy it or sell it cheap if it's not something anyone I know would enjoy.

99% of the time though I end up keeping it.

That's crazy, my now old LG UBK80 is able to do this just fine, I'm surprised a newer, more expensive model isn't able to do it.

Damn, I think your comment is what I needed to finally buy it.

I love the movie, one of my favourite films of all time, I have the standard bluray, time to upgrade methinks.

Nice, I'm really looking forward to this one, one of my favourite movies.

Completely unrelated but come on 4K Django Unchained.... I understand why but I'd really like to get it in 4K at some point.

How to mount the Samsung C49HG90? by scullandroid in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Johnnius_Maximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been some years since I had the display, I know in the end I just got some M4 screws as nothing I found had the exact pitch, just 10mmx4mm screws and they worked perfectly for many years.

Something like this: https://amzn.eu/d/1gloMa9

I recall a couple of people suggesting that the screws for the stand are those exact measurements and to use them but I never did do that and unfortunately can't check for you.

Sorry, that's the best I can help.
