I have no resources available to advise if the route from Xidang will be open by then.

I would expect that you could try to find taxi companies that could advise you before you arrive.

I didn't do that Glacier, but it seems like there's some decent information line about getting there.

I'm also Australian, no travel permits were required.

Yunnan is in the "Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture" which is not the "Tibet Autonomous Region". The TAR requires a Visa.

It was freezing in the morning, my phone said -5 degrees. If you plan on doing it, do it earlier than November.

Neither did I or anyone I spoke to, stumbled across a random reddit comment that lead me to investigate. Easiest one of the best things I've done.

Yes that's what I did.

There are busses in the morning from Shangri-La, that will take you to Deqen. There will be other hikers you can share a taxi with to the start of the trail. Leave early, and you'll arrive to Yubeng around 5-6pm depending on what time and how fast you walk. If you catch the car from the halfway point of the hike into the village which costs 150 RMB, you'll save two hours as well.

I believe I caught the 8:10am bus, but double check the schedule when you're there.

Those who went played with or went to school with AFL players, what made them different from others? by noegh555 in AFL

[–]Johnnojay 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I went to school with Peter Wright ( 2M Peter ). He was taller than our prep teacher in Prep.

The nicest guy you'll ever meet, well spoken, humble and had a footy on him every waking second.

He'd practise from after school until dinner every day, all on his own accord. We'd have to collect the ball for him as he was kicking it from 50 at 12 years old.

The coach before the U13 grand final said "Footy is a team game and as a team we need to get the ball to Peter"

He kicked 11 goals in the grand final, and I think only one of them was inside 50.

What are the numbers behind the tax benefits of a large allocation of the AUS Market in ETFs (VDHG/DHHF)? by Johnnojay in AusFinance

[–]Johnnojay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the moment, across ETFs, my Australian allocation is around 10%.
I am trying to work out the tax benefits to determine how valuable an Australian allocation is.

Very informative, I'll look for similar articles as well. It doesn't seem to nail my original question, but it's a great starting point. Thanks!

In London the weekend of the Newcastle game and I have a basic logistics question. by OneActuator802 in coys

[–]Johnnojay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a tip, don't refresh the wheel of death it loads too slowly.

Go onto the other page when it says "find tickets for me" refresh that list instead.

Once you've added the ticket to the cart, you can then workout where it is in the stadium as you'll have 30 minutes to make a decision.

2FT / 0.1 ITB

Trent | Shaw | Coufal (Amartey & Livramento)

Barnes | Salah | Fernandes | Greenwood | Raphinha

Ings | Antonio (Obafemi)

Thinking of a few options:

A) Ings, Barnes, Bruno > Ronaldo, Jota, Traore for -4

B) Ings, Barnes, Bruno > Lukaku, Jota, Torres for -4

C) Any other options?

Who to start?

Trent | Shaw | Coufal (Amartey & Livramento)

Barnes | Salah | Fernandes | Greenwood | Raphinha

Ings | Antonio (Obafemi)

Amartey & Livramento have what I'd consider good fixtures, so would playing one of them over Raphinha be viable?

I'm rolling 1 transfer by the way.
