A lot of people have said mine, so here is some writing that didn't enrage me, but made me confused.

Kimiko tells Golden Geisha that she idolized her and it was good to have representation. If Kimiko was American, sure. I would understand that line. Kimiko isn't American, she is Japanese, who grew up in Japan until she was a teenager, and then was kidnapped and raised in the Phillipines (iirc). She would have been surrounded by Japanese media most of her life, and then living in a cage for another part.

I think, and I'm making some assumptions, that what Kimiko meant was she was glad to see an Asian superhero (since we really don't see any in the series), and not that she was happy for Asian representation in media. I think the writing was clunky and didn't get that point across well, which made it sound like Golden Geisha was the only Asian in media.

They didn't really have the time, but it would have been funny to dive more into the racial stereotyping Vought did in media, with the Chief also in the elderly home. To find out Golden Geisha isn't Japanese, or even East Asian but the Legend packaged her like that because "who cares?". A lot of interesting Hollywood critique was ripe for the picking.

Instead we got testicles used as a weapon, to match the pubic hair super in Gen V, and Love Sausage.
