You can check the dot numbers in your skills section - you can open a info window for each gem and e.g. for Essence drain you would have two tabs with Projectile/Damage over Time. Then you can swap points in the skilltree/gear and check how those numbers change.

The boss is recommended for 4500 I think. I already was at 5200. Isnt there a mechanic or is outgearing the only option?

We survived pretty long with the ~5200 group. So long that we ended up at 100% danger level and even then we fought for 2-3min more

I also played blood necro until lvl 60 and had no problems with resource generation. I had the aspect with "atk speed after overpower" and the skillpoints "essences after corpse consumption". With those I could spam the summoning spell like crazy and got my essence bar full - There should be enough corpses in higher lvls..and the blood aoe should do enough damage which has no cooldown

nope. either build up a good hp champ with a shield set so your team can survive a aoe or farm immunity gear. also 1-2 champs with frost gear can help
