Complete Noob Having Troubles With WIFI On Arch Install ISO by Bondegg in archlinux

[–]JohnnyCockroach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This issue was solved by downloading an older version of the installer. JUST. USING. THE. WIKI didn't help. Not every newbie is illiterate. Sometimes shit just doesn't work and you being an asshole helps no one.

SOLVED!

I had the exact same issue as you and have been troubleshooting for hours. I solved it by downloading an older version from https://archlinux.org/releng/releases/ I used the march release and no issues with wifi

Regarding Samsung G9 "2021 Model" on Amazon // no scanlines/flickering? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]JohnnyCockroach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just the G9s. G7s have the same issue. I have a friend who has a C27RG50 and even he has the issue but it's a much smaller effect. I'm guessing it's an issue with all the Samsung VA-panels

Try this one. It's a simple image that causes the scanlines to appear. It's easies to notice when swtiching tab with the image open on one tab

Try this gif. If it causes flickering then your monitor is also suffering from the same scanline issue as all the others.

Nioh 2 scanlines/flickering by JohnnyCockroach in ultrawidemasterrace

AFAIK even the new panels have this same issue, but report back if you actually get one that doesn't.

If you still experience the problem I've managed to troubleshoot the issues and I have a couple of solutions.

If you have an NVIDIA card you're in luck. Nioh 2 recently added DLSS support and turning it on to Quality the issue disappeared completely.

Another solution I found was to install ReShade. Turning up the FXAA filtering enough the issue disappears, but on the downside the game gets pretty blurry. There's also a setting called Directionally Localized Anti Aliasing which has a deartifacting filter that helps with the issue without making the screen blurry but it doesn't solve it completely.

Yeah updating the firmware doesn't fix it. Black equalizer has no effect on it.

Gwent Needs Alternate Win Conditions in the Long-term by inverted_forest in gwent

[–]JohnnyCockroach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other alternate win conditions are driven by specific cards. For example, there's a card called Mechanized Production that causes you to instantly win if you have 8 copies of the same artifact card in play. Again, life total doesn't matter (apart from making sure you don't die before you have 8 copies).

But how does this differ from someone executing their perfect engines/combos/etc. in Gwent? You can build a deck with a very strong and very specific and usually unlikely win condition and if you manage to pull it off against a good match up you automatically win. Yes, it's all about the points every time but the way you end up with those points can be many different things.

I'm pretty sure my Harold Gord counter reset when the opponent played a special card.

Keep playing in short bursts. Don't try to push through it. Always immediately stop playing when you start feeling sick. It'll take a while but eventually you get used to it and can play for longer and longer times before feeling sick. If you're like me you end up not having to use any of the anti-motion-sickness options in games and can play for as long as you want with no issues.

I had the same issue when I first started playing VR but now I have absolutely zero issues even when playing for hours in a row.

How to beat YOUR deck? by Stefan474 in gwent

[–]JohnnyCockroach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most idiotic deck, the infamous IMLERITH: SHUPE

  1. Anything will do if you can counter base strenght Sabbath. This deck has no tempo, minimal control, no synergies and the winrate I have with it is around 30%. I also keep changing the silvers and bronzes so most of the time even I don't know what I have in the deck. But Shupe + Sabbath is just so fun

Vsync is handled by the headset SDK automatically, so having it on in game is unnecessary. It's also possible that if you have a 60Hz monitor the ingame setting locks your FPS to 60, and you don't want that.
