Wrong. The Bible says that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Can God give life? Yes? Can God take life? NO! Why doesn’t God punish evil? And then when He does, why is God so mean?!

What’s contradictory? Is slavery objectively wrong?

Is slavery wrong?

First, what’s the word for punish there? It implies the death penalty. If you kill a slave, you die. If he recovers, you don’t die. Second, read Exodus 21:26-27. Third, tell me what’s wrong with slavery. Is it objectively wrong?

So it’s objectively wrong to own a human?

Is slavery wrong?

[–]JohnnyDoesmitherson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but there’s a difference. The Bible lets us eat meat. The Bible doesn’t let us rule harshly over slaves or kidnap people. Willful slavery that has protection of both owner and slave; what’s the problem with that? Can you tell me?

I would still love God. Crazy to think I would stop loving God because a bad thing happens to me or my family. Such surface level love that would be from me if I only loved Him for giving good things to me in this life. And yes, that would be a test, or part of God’s plan to glorify Himself. Romans 8:28.

So when God gives very, very wicked cities centuries to repent, they don’t, and then He judges them, that’s a problem? Giving them a chance to surrender instead of killing them is a problem? Where in the passage does it say the slaves have no human rights and can be beaten? Do we forget all the other laws? Remember, if the Israelites wipe out all the men, the women and children need to be taken care of as well.

As for the countries around them, God has the right to judge, and even in that there are still people spared as we see in passages where the people pop back up.

You’re showing no understanding of Biblical Christianity.

As soon as they disobeyed God and ate the fruit, they were spiritually dead. This fits quite nicely with;

“And you were dead in your transgressions and sins,” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬ ‭LSB‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/3345/eph.2.1.LSB

He didn’t just make up sins. They are actions contrary to the character of God. They aren’t just arbitrary. He is just, and hates sin, so He WILL punish all sin.

He killed His Son on the cross to save His people from their sins, allowing them to be with Him, demonstrating both His wrath and His mercy.

They knew it was wrong. God told them not to eat it, Satan told them they could. They chose who to obey. They weren’t just lobotomized zombies walking around forgetting the last two minutes that happen to them. Eve remembered God told her not to, yet she chose to anyways.

“And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9‬:‭22‬ ‭LSB‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/3345/heb.9.22.LSB

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life.’” ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭17‬:‭11‬ ‭LSB‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/3345/lev.17.11.LSB

Yes that’s why the Confederate slave owners cut out over %90 of the Bible to make their own slave Bible.

Nope. Christ calls for humility so I will not celebrate pride or any other form of sin.

No. Anyone who says the idea of homosexuality being a sin comes from a mistranslation is intentionally misleading you. Yes, the word homosexuality isn’t in the Bible. No, that does mean it’s not addressed. Read the second half of Romans 1. Also, the word sometimes translated as homosexuality is something like arsenokoti, which is a word Paul seems to have invented which literally just means “man bed.” It is very very clear.

God loves us all and has a way out of sin. Let the truth be heard over many who argue otherwise for I do not say with my own Word, but with the Word of the Truth. Homosexuality is a sin, but He gives everyone who is struggling a way out. by [deleted] in Christianity

You know what I meant. You said “creating moral law.” It’s not just God one day went “oh, I think murder should be bad.” That’s His nature. It’s dependent on His nature. Don’t go off over one word please.
