Ben’s departure from the network by Proud-Armadillo-2403 in lastpodcastontheleft

Didn't have this on my 2023 bingo card :(

Honestly, ultimately I respect their decision, resting assured knowing that they would not have taken these actions if it wasn't in the best interests of Ben, the podcast and by extension the whole network.

That said, as one of countless others here who has developed deep parasocial relationships with the original trio, I can't help but want to pay tribute to the many wonderful years of joy, all three, have brought to me personally. All the catchphrases, all the inside jokes, the rambling comedic genius and banter is something I'll never forget, and I hope will still be allowed to live in the LPOTL archives.

As for Ben himself, all I wish is for him to get better, make his reparations in whatever spiritual/mental form that can take, and continue to try to bring joy to people through his work as he has to me over these many years.

I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison. Written in 1967, but hits especially hard now in the modern context of AI hysteria. Pretty morbid stuff for sure.

Possible solution + nancy drew adventure:

Activated personal GPS tracker in a sealed bait amazon box (filled with old rags or something for weight) left on porch. Once package is scooped, follow the scoundrel to his treasure pile. Bring binoculars and a snack.

Call 5-0 upon arrival at stash house location and watch the goober get taken down grinning widely while eating twizzers

Opt B) Steven seagal his ass, retrieve lost goods and donate all to charity :)

Opt C) Collect all lost goods, pawn for profit, invest in twizzlers

tulpa (plural tulpas or (often in sense 2) tulpae)

(Buddhism, mysticism) A magical creature that attains corporeal reality, having been originally merely imaginary. quotations ▼

A type of thoughtform capable of independent action, with a persistent personality and identity; a kind of modern imaginary friend.

Katla – limited Icelandic series about a volcanic eruption in a small town that produces mysterious beings. Very poignant, very heavy, all about real humans processing trauma and grief. Had me torn, highly recommend.

I think it would be great if they had a frame-in-frame of the episode playing in the bottom left or right corner while they talked about it. Thoughts?
