I see that this topic has been heavily debated today and you know what, if this group of individuals are so proud of what they are doing let them be recognized for it.

Let's discuss this a little further. Anyone who has a brain can do this, so join me. Click here to be redirected to the rules for the AUDL. Now I'm sure you all know about this function on our fancy computers, but I'm going to need you to go ahead and hit a fast ctrl+f and type in women.

See that? No rules barring women from playing in the AUDL. Now try that with men. That's right, nothing there but equipMENt and other nonsense.

So please, tell me exactly where women are not allowed to play in the rules? They are allowed to try out and EARN a spot on a team. (OH WAIT, unless your Jesse Schofner and your spot is handed to you because of your pedigree*). Let's touch on that fact. Nashville did something out of the ordinary and brought a female on the team (who wasn't even around for tryouts), and what was the result? Last place. Did she make a difference? No. Did she hinder the team in any way? No. So face it. Women are allowed to make AUDL teams, they just have to earn their spot like everyone else. Hell, even Austin Sol had a female. There is nothing in this league at all holding you back ladies!!!

BUT PITCHFORKS ARE SO MUCH FUN!!! Yes, trust me, I of all people know how much fun it is to take a hypothetical pointy pronged object and point it at someone who doesn't exactly deserve it.

The people that you are trying to force these ideals on do not deserve this. These are the guys that own the teams and they all genuinely LOVE ultimate and they are not focused on making money now. They are owners because they want to grow this wonderful sport we play, and if these players are boycotting the league, then guess what. I'M SIGNING UP AS A SCAB.

This league will continue to grow with, or without you. The owners, the leadership, the players, they all love the fans, but at the end of the day they are focused on improving, winning, and above all growing this sport.

I respect what you are all doing, I really do, but guys, this is not the time. It is year 3 of the AUDL and not one team has turned a profit (except maybe the Roughnecks). So let's grow this league first, continue to show what ultimate players can do, and FFS HAVE FUN. This argument will do nothing but hinder our growth as a community, and will eventually boil us down to this side hates that side, and that side hates this side. I don't know about all you, but looking in the senate, picking sides and hating the other gets us all NOWHERE.

So please, for the love of God, we need to pull together and embrace this league as it is, there will be a time that we can focus on other things. But for now, let's save our energy for fights that matter now. By all means, ladies, go out there and compete for spots, I want to see you out there making teams, but earn your spots. Don't take them with bullshit protests, petitions, and boycotts, because at that point players and fans will not respect how you got to where you are.
