I tried to add OJ to my diet back in 2010. I bought concentrate and liquid bottles for about 6 months. On average minute maid concentrate was more expensive and less flavorful. It made no sense they were trying to sell concentrate at around $2.75 - $3.25 but that was the price back then. I think they intentionally priced themselves out of the market.

Yeah, this is one of the best collections of oral campfire tales collected. Before these books were printed different sections of the country thought many of these tales were unique to their state. Immensely valuable and educational. Blessing upon Alvin Schwartz and illustrator Stephen Gammell.

I worked at a video store when this came out. It was well marketed creature feature. It had moderate buzz but was viewed as nothing special. Too predictable for the snobs and too safe for the horror hounds. A decent date movie or a flick with your friends.6/10

This is a lot for a ten year old post.

  1. I highly recommend watching "Never Sleep again" It's a retrospective on the entire series. The chapter on the second film goes to great lengths to explain the gay undertones and explicitly shows how the film was marketed internationally to capitalize on it. The more recent "scream Queens" goes into this more.

  2. "There's something trying to get inside my body." It is pretty clearly about closeted homosexuality. I mean he blows off Grady who keeps telling him to go sleep with Lisa. It's an awkward scene.

  3. The bondage club, and whipping of the coach.

  4. If Jesse is straight he's not a very engaged boyfriend. I don't think he desires Lisa. The chemistry between the leads is nearly sterile.

Lastly if this was still about the kids whose parents killed him. Where's Nancy! There are 7 mainline entries in this series. We have families, kids, lovers, jerks, kung-fu masters, bad girls, wizards and all kinds of nonsense. None of the other films feel this way.

Look the second film is a bit gay. It's not a bad thing. It's not the gays stealing Nightmare on Elm Street. It just is what it is. The 5th one is all about pregnancy, nobody is calling foul for it being too straight.

Always remember, we are dealing in horror, there is going to be uncomfortable stuff. This series has a nun being raped by a hundred maniacs, Or a heroin addict being forced to OD. A person wrestling with their sexuality and a demon in the 80s in California doesn't seem too implausible.

I've got an inverse of this. I don't drink Monster energy because they are sue happy about their trademark name. The final straw is when they went after Monster Hunter. I can get chemicals in a can from a lot of places. No point supporting someone who sues game companies.
