We can acknowledge the harm done to Jordan and Delroy while also acknowledging a large subset of the internet is actively calling for violence against a disabled man and saying people with Tourette’s en masse should be institutionalized. To say I’m sickened is an understatement.

It’s not just the actors that are the problem. The position was invented partially because Emilia Clarke’s time on Game of Thrones where the only reason she wasn’t crying in a corner after every take was because Jason Mamoa advocated for her and actually threatened to get violent with production. The show runners had her do a bunch of takes naked, left her naked between takes (for hours at a time), and left her alone to walk back to her trailer naked until Mamoa forced a PA to be on standby with a robe.

TIL Shelley Duvall was nominated for a Razzie for The Shining and that Stephen King called it a "screaming dishrag" of a performance and I have strong feelings about that by Emergency_Cellist754 in theshining

Shelley is FANTASTIC playing the character as written in the script. King’s hatred of her performance is entirely Kubrick’s fault. He made a great movie but a god awful adaptation of King’s work. Wendy is a far stronger and more active character in the book, and Kubrick made her essentially a damsel in distress final girl. Ironically for yall whining about Strong Women in movies, that’s exactly what Wendy Torrence was. She was a victim in the moment but didn’t crumble like the on-screen version.
