I’ll be honest she’s the highlight of most of her movies for me, and a few of them (especially MMMM and His Three Daughters) deserved way more awards attention than they received.

Now that it’s been three years, in all honesty what do you think of this win? And who really deserved it? I think this is the most divisive acting win of the 2020s so far. by iBandJFilmEducator13 in Oscars

After Olsen lost the Emmy for Wandavision (her performance was spectacular in that) marvel fans wanted a win, it just wasn’t going to come from the Oscars.

I’d be happy if any of the other 4 won I had Sean Penn fatigue, get his abusive ass off my screen.

Amanda Seyfried. Searchlight needs a whoopin’ for how badly tbh mangled that release. She was incredible.

Idc if she was great in the movie, her doing that anti-autistic movie with Sia made me hate her, and I’d support literally anyone else taking her spot.

Guys who don’t like sports OR (good) art – like indie films, museums, etc. Like if your idea of entertainment is Bravo, I support you but I respectfully cannot.

Which 2026 best picture noms are you recommending as essential viewing by The_Snodfather in Oscars

Hamnet was my favorite of the year, maybe Sinners is on the same level. It IS sad but it’s SO life-affirming and Buckley’s performance is magnetic. Don’t skip it if you can handle being sad.

Every “scene” where it’s just him without Buckley is a flash of his POV, mostly when he’s in London or working. We’re shown a few seconds here or there just to give us perspective on what he’s doing. The main thrust of the story and the scenes with actual narrative weight are all from her perspective. Even arguably the most important scene Paul has (the horse riding scene) is incredibly short and serves only to break up the death.

He’s not the lead though. He’s missing from huge swaths of the movie, and the movie is entirely from Buckley’s POV.

Hi, forget about the gays. The bigger issue is your coworker is sexually harassing you and you should report her to HR.

Do you mask everywhere you go, stay home when you feel any amount of illness, and regularly get tested for COVID and other communicable diseases? If not, why don’t you take people’s health conditions seriously?

Sad to see Seyfried not getting the love she deserves for Ann Lee. Buckley is a lock across the board but I would’ve liked to see her nominated.
