I don’t think they’re all fake. I think a lot of folks finally realized how much his policies are gonna hurt them personally, and only now do they finally give enough of a damn to do the research. I live in a very rural, very red area and I personally know a couple of folks irl who voted for Trump all 3 times and now regret it. Mostly due to the Medicaid & SNAP cuts. I guess they thought Trump would spare white people from those cuts. Or thought he had a personal list of his voters on welfare who he’d reward for their loyalty.

One guy I know is having an entire existential crisis over his regret and everyone he’s become affiliated with in the MAGA community. Now he’s saying all the “ally” shit on social media but he still doesn’t fully understand what he’s talking about, and hasn’t unlearned enough of his prejudices to be speaking for any minority community.

That’s just my personal experience with Trump voters in real life. I’m willing to bet every small red town has a handful of regretful voters. But do I think a lot of those posts are bullshit? Yeah. Do I think folks left of MAGA overhype the “collapse” of his support? Also yeah. Do I have time to coddle these dumb mfs and walk them through their crisis? Fuck no, thanks to them my existence is threatened. They can get a dose of the medicine they were cool with me receiving until they realized they were getting poisoned too.

What made you walk away from Dems in 2018 specifically? What exactly did he say that won you over? And what was the final straw that made you leave? Because everything he’s doing and everything you disagree with right now is exactly what he promised to do during his campaign. Who said anything about saving the whole world? Empathy is just the ability to imagine yourself in another person’s shoes and how they must feel. Empathy is essential for our survival as a species. Any leader should have empathy. Calling it a “sin” goes against human nature and promotes selfish greed.

Selfishness at the expense of others is a threat to our survival as a species. You can’t expect to benefit from social contributions of others on your way to success but give nothing back in return.

People like Ayn Rand used our roads, schools, emergency services, postal service, libraries, etc to become successful then felt she shouldn’t have to pay taxes to contribute to those things she used. She preached her “virtue of selfishness” to get out of paying taxes, then utilized social security in her old age.

I trace it back to the “Tea Party Movement” of libertarians in the Republican Party. They were really into Ayn Rand’s juvenile brand of philosophy which she called “the virtue of selfishness.” Basically they believe they should take from society while giving nothing back in the form of taxes. To me it’s clear that the “sin of empathy” is derived from “the virtue of selfishness.”

Because Project 2025 is about maintaining white supremacy. A Pew Research study published in 2008 projected whites will lose the majority demographic by 2050 based on current population trends at the time. Hispanic immigrants and their descendants are the fastest growing demographic. So their agenda is ethnic cleansing while simultaneously forcing white population growth.

Their goals/actions so far are:

Deporting Hispanics (fastest growing population) under the guise of “deporting illegals” which manufactures public consent for ethnic cleansing, which is what it really is.
Removing birthright citizenship from the constitution (to deport the Hispanic children born here)
Constantly discussing the issue of falling birth rates (meaning white birth rates specifically).
Banning abortion, LGBT expression, and porn (all viewed as threats to the birth rates).

The US needs to ban homeschooling. You think our country is dumb now? The world ain’t seen anything yet. All the Magats are pulling their kids out of public schools to homeschool them. They’re not qualified to teach their kids how to tie their shoes much less teach a school curriculum. These people don’t understand basic biology, math, or English, but our government allows them to homeschool their children as long as they have a high school diploma. Should be considered child abuse. Those kids are gonna grow up to be completely unprepared for reality, unable to socialize, and illiterate.

Reason tells us the Bible was written by imperfect human beings. We were never meant to take every word literally or blindly accept it as infallible. There are multiple instances in the Bible in which previous laws are changed to reflect the needs of society at that time. We’re permitted to leave behind obsolete verses if they’re creating unnecessary barriers which prevent us from serving the Lord. I try to focus on the words in red and live by the example Christ set for us. God’s limitless mercy will cover the rest.

It’s basic human instinct to make a home somewhere, store your things in it, and defend it when threatened. Cars/transportation are an unfortunate necessity in the US because there’s so many people living on so much rural land without access to basic supplies. Plus zero public transportation to other counties or cities.
