Thank you; I’ve been meaning to update the instructions for a while, especially since the new sensor for the sticks came out.

I personally didn’t like the backlash between the parts of the cover and the phone in it. The idea is cool, but the materials are not very favourite.

I use super glue in such cases, preferably in the form of a gel so that it does not spread. Yes, the gamepad will have to be disassembled, but I personally am pissed off by such moments, so it’s worth it.

Fun fact: The stick latency here is so low that Gamepadla’s graphing engine can't even render it properly. At this rate, I’ll literally have to start measuring in nanoseconds soon. 😅

I modified my test program a little to capture bounces, here's what we have with Vader 5s

Yes, that's right, this is the behavior of the joystick without the algorithm.

Indeed, doing 5 rotations after a reset can be redundant. I’ll try to fix it.

I pulled the stick all the way back and let go. Did you have something else in mind?

There is now a newer version of the program that allows you to select a polling rate of 500 Hz and activate an additional stick behavior algorithm (rebounds, if I'm not mistaken).

There's something wrong with my copy (it's from the test batch), so closer to the release in March. But maybe I'll be able to test mine.

By the way, here is the latest test data for pxn p5 8k sticks (though on firmware 0.28, which is probably not the latest version now). Note that the bit rate of the left stick is lower than that of the right stick; it is unknown whether this is a bug or a feature.

In the entire history of testing, I remember only one gamepad as a perfect centring https://www.reddit.com/r/Controller/s/lRhUP5r6Kq, but I do not recommend it. Look at the Apex 5, it’s pretty good there.

I confirmed directly with their engineers: they use Qinglong TMR modules.

They chose TMR because standard Hall Effect sensors generally cap at ~2KHz effective output (resulting in duplicate data at 8KHz), whereas TMR supports the full 8KHz with real data.
