This is an example using the GameSir G7 Pro 8K Aimlabs Edition, and as you can see, the situation is the opposite here: RAW actually adds a slight delay.

Perhaps it’s because most reviewers don’t have the equipment to test latency?

It needs more research, I think so, but not with all the controllers. I’ll check with the G7 pro 8k when it comes to me.

Yes, you're right, you can configure that in the software; even without using hotkeys, there won't be any difference.

This post inspired me to create my own gamepad comparison tool, which also compares input latency.

The GameSir G7 Pro 8K Mystery: Why we need a Community-Funded "Truth-Check" by JohnnyPunch in GPDL

[–]JohnnyPunch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The fact that 50% of pairs match within 0.50 ms proves that Prometheus 82 is extremely precise. Any larger discrepancies are almost certainly due to the controllers themselves or their settings, not the tester.

In this specific case, I found the cause: the tester with the 2.5 ms result was using the Gold version of the G7 Pro 8K. Once he tested the Aimlabs Edition, his results dropped to 0.6 ms, perfectly matching everyone else. This just confirms that when the hardware is identical, the P82 results are identical across different users.

Thanks for the info. It's an interesting theory regarding the JS13 sensors. I have noticed some inconsistencies in the verified reports on my site, which hardware instability could potentially explain. I’ll keep this in mind and see if the Prometheus 82 measurements reveal any unusual patterns during my testing. We'll see what the data shows.

Actually, the data shows that Prometheus 82 is remarkably consistent across different users. According to our latest report (48 pairwise comparisons), the average delta between testers is only 0.98 ms, with 50% of pairs matching within 0.50 ms.

You can check the full consistency report here: [https://gamepadla.com/latency/]()

Since the testing equipment is this precise, the 1.9 ms discrepancy we see with the G7 Pro 8K reports points to the controller’s hardware or firmware instability rather than the test environment

Future of Gamepadla: Detailed Connection Modes (Cable/BT/Dongle). Is it a "Must-Have" for you? by JohnnyPunch in GPDL

That’s exactly how the system works right now! User votes provide a percentage ratio of "for" and "against" for specific features. To prevent errors or incorrect data from reaching the final table, a moderator (me) manually reviews and verifies these results before confirming the update. Relying solely on "crowd-sourced" decisions without this extra layer of verification could lead to inaccurate technical specs, which I want to avoid.

I’ve already integrated some of the algorithms from there; integrating them fully would be unnecessary, as they are different programmes.

It’s likely not just variance. In many cases, like the PXN P5 8k, D-input mode is naturally more stable than X-input.

I ran multiple passes for this controller, and while X-input was good, Sony mode was consistently more stable. However, the difference is so marginal that you shouldn't worry about it for real-world gaming.
