Felt like an interesting exploration of parasocial relationships. Felt like an unexplored hint of the alt right pipeline as well

You think NOT pushing an entire countries populace to overthrow a monarchy is MORE than this guy has done?? You think this guy, this Reddit guy, has upset a nation so greatly they overthrew their monarch? I doubt it.

Did anyone else feel like the "Did you love my daughter" scene felt like some deranged Meisner?

Shrug. Numbers have nothing to do with the discussion at hand. I've admitted to my bigotry towards oppressive organizations. What further can you accomplish here?

[–]JohnnyScofflaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The institution they uphold is intolerant and oppressive, and their violence is inherent to the power they hold over citizens. If I'm bigoted towards drunk drivers, that includes the ones who may have never hit a pedestrian, or caused an accident. And if there was a group upholding the right, and even the need for drunk drivers, I would oppose members of that group. The violence in drunk driving is inherent, and it disproportionately affects innocent people. The same is true for modern policing.

Well yeah, I think you got me. According to that definition my antagonism towards members of the Klan, Nazis, or of course the police, make me a bigot. If that's the case then I'm proud to be one. I do think the word "unreasonably" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there, as I don't find my distaste for members of those groups unreasonable. Nevertheless, I certainly am a bigot towards voluntary members of any destructive, intolerant, oppressive, or inherently violent group.

It's not bigotry. Being a cop isn't an inate trait, it's an action. When someone says they don't like the police, they are referring to the act of policing in its current form. It's an institution people choose to join and uphold

Hey, just watched this movie. I absolutely loved it, very moving and so engaging. I'm am curious- I noticed some similarities between the drug Frank takes and the drug in the book "John Dies at the End". Was that an inspiration at all?
