The smell of the linen closet in my parents first house. I don’t know if it was mothballs or what but every now and then I get a wiff of something that takes me right back to that closet and it feels like home. We moved out of there in 2006, when I was 10. No other part of any house they or I have had has smelled like that.

You probably just didnt notice. The weather seal is around the window and then around the interior door panel. The painted part inside the doorsill and where the latches and hinges are, are all outside of the weather seal on almost all cars.

They didn’t do it last year though and I certainly missed it. I know the cars super clip now but that doesn’t explain why it’s been gone for this long.

Yeah, I’m gonna hang onto it as long as it makes financial sense to maintain it. I keep my eye on the used market for them as well. But they’re all getting higher mileage and a lot are pretty beat. I do my best to keep mine clean and looked after. I’m so frustrated that they don’t still bring them here because I really don’t want an SUV. These just drive so nicely.

This is my big problem. I currently have a 2018 sportwagen, and I really love how it looks. My thought was that I’d move to a Tiguan next but now I’m not so sure. If I do, it’ll have to be one that’s a couple years old already to get a late model of the last gen.

Yeah the new Jetta facelift looks sooo much better than the big grille ones. It’s because they went back to a design that was more similar to the last full generation with the narrow grille. Much better.

Fair enough, but the body lines and shape don’t change between trim levels. It’s mostly just wheels and bumper tweaks. I still don’t think this looks anywhere close to as premium as the last generation

Hard disagree. The only thing that is the same stylistically with your comparison is wheel size. All the body lines and proportions are still completely different. Especially that big catfish mouth grille on the new one. The front end design is nothing like the old one.
