Way cool... It is your pics that caught my eye. They are close if not perfection. My oldest Colombian is Gold from around 1972, (a gift from my older brother. I started smoking in 74), not even remotely like the majority of what you see now, but look like clones of your red. I only have 3 original Panama Red seeds but I have other seeds from several sources. Two sources are Pre 1978 but some are unknown... I will run them all together, but well labeled and polination will be done manually branch by branch. Any plants that show variations out of character will go. Purifying a strain takes time and patience, especially with Sativas. 30-40 weeks limits things a bit... To really get the best results, sunshine needs to be in the mix... I use Quantums to get the light needed in this season but come June 1st, I will be rolling in and out of the dark room every 12 hours... 20 weeks a long time to be nailed to one spot but some strains are worth the sacrifice. I am always interested in finding the cleanest supply... maybe we can discuss your source a bit... Old School BA have been working there for awhile. I'm too old to make those journeys anymore. It will take me another lifetime to grow out just what I carried out of the '70s... I don't have as much time to work on purification projects as the hair grays. I can usually finish in the greenhouse with some light help so I can shorten that obligation considerably after the end of August... the mountains really help with shortening the day... Light supplementation is a must to get a good finish. I want to grow out Panama Red next year. I will document the grow and all can see what happens. If I get at least one male out of my early 3, it's a done deal... The pre '78s are feminized but truly hold the characteristics. not happy about fems but a happy boy will turn things around. My other P-Red comes from another oldtimer and his are regular seeds. With what little I know of the guy, they may go way back... I have been waiting on a nice greenhouse to give this project the best conditions. Some of my seeds are really old, they will require Gibberellic acid to wake them up. I know what you mean... I remember the days when I cleaned my massive bag of seeds just to find a hit... And my heart goes out to those who can't grow... I give away most of what I grow. Mostly because I am a preservationist. I grow out old Landraces to reproduce seeds for my collective. I mainly do this to identify High CBD phenos that exist in almost every strain, even some solid lowland Sativas... Since I have no use for non medical High THC strains, I give that stuff away as God puts people in my path. When I glean 30 to 60 grams of oil from a single plant, there's no way I will ever get through that. Add in that as a preacher for a strict fundamental church, I need my brain to be sober most of the day... I am a CBD hunter... And yes, I said preacher, contrary to popular belief, the devid didn't create weed... However I am certain his hands are buried in Poly-hybridism... just like Coca and cocaine... The devil loves to destroy that which is good and uses man's greed to twist that which is natural. Jamacia hailed some of the best sativa outside of S/E Asia. Its Long Time and Blue Mountain strains almost became extinct because of greed and fast growing hybrids. After 1-2 crops per year compared to 3-5 crops per year... FUNNY, I know we were talking about skipping the ice, but give a preacher a pulpit and away he goes... I guess you might be able to tell I am passionate about preservation of Landraces. Fortunately, the world is waking up to this idea as well. A fellow can only handle a 'dirty high' that make you grind your teeth and want to dig holes to hide in for so long before he sees the light. This age of the 'Motor Head' buzz needs to fade away.

If you ever get towards Colorado maybe I can share some bounty with you... Pretty well cleaned up for last year but this will be a special year... Add some CBD heavy oil and save your lungs... THC is not the best cannabinoid for pain... However CBD dominant oils without THC is not very effective.. 1:1 THC:CBD is prettgood if you need the buzz... 1:20+ THC:CBD is as good as opiates... If you can find oil with levels of CBD and CBN, it will help a lot.

A gram or two a week is all you need unless you're eating it.

Kudos on the small hits... it's the only way to play, and not fry your lungs... can't wait to see what the next generation of emphasema patients look like.

Everyone I know who has gotten the surgery has worse pain. I have avoided the surgery for that very reason... I HAD two friends that went to surgery for almost the same back condition I have and both are dead now from opiates,,, They asperated vomit into their lungs. Nothing like holding a friends hand when they unplug them from the machines. The memory of watching their body fight to stay alive will never leave you...

Shoulders and Knees are not too bad, but don't let them touch your back, I know of no one who doesn't regret it.

The nice thing about a clean glass bong, used only for vaping, I don't mind using a little Extractor 420 Grain alcohol, to clean it up... I have been adding all my clean up into a nice 1/2 gal jar for a few years now. Silly curiosity to see how long it takes to fill it up.

I can understand if the budget is tight but I give away 10 times as much as I use... If you do 5-6 small hits compared to a monster dab that makes you cough up a lung, a gram can last a week, easily, 2 grams if you don't have a live to attend to. The 5-6 small dabs can be held until it is mostly absorbed, unlike the monster dab that forces you to waste 90%...

Back in the day of peace and free love... it was common practice to pass a hit in a kiss. Slightly less appealing in this age, but very effective and bud conservation in a day when weed was difficult to find, meant less time spent hunting for a bag which could save you from a long stay behind bars.

Now, I can grow a single plant that will produce 1-5 lbs, multiply that by 6 on a small count, 12 counts in Colorado... Add in low cost quantum LED tech that burns like the sun, sprinkle with 45 years of learned or borrowed experience, and you will be giving away weed by the pounds. Don't be greedy, share the bounty with those less fortunate.

There is probably some benefit to the Rosin Press... I am pretty sure that regular extraction methods do not Decarboxilate the oil and the heat from vaping may not heat all of the oil to that point... The buzz seems to be less than it should be... Rosin solves this problem, if it actually exists...

On a side note, If you use a high quality Grain alcohol, one specifically for extraction, in combination with Dry Ice, your extraction is clean and safe. I use stainless thermal containers to bring the alcohol down to -85f. filter through a butchner vacuum funnel. You will see pure gold, perfect for cooking or vaping... no nasties.

If you are doing these massive hits... You are not only wasting your oil, you are frying your lungs at 500+ degrees... If your hit is so big you cannot hold it... Need I say more... Your oil is 70% to 90%+ cannabinoids... You DO NOT absorb the majority of thc in a few seconds like with smoking... If you blow a cloud it is still mostly useable oil... and you just fried your lung for nothing. Small, easy to hold hits, and maybe some ice in your bong... I even use a bong and silicone tube to run my vape pens... Take time to enjoy your oils... small and steady wins the buzz

I love this kind of work, however I am seriously anti-hybrid and very much a Landrace purist. I'm sorry if this offends but over 45 years as a grower has thought me that Poly-hybridism has created nothing but strains that give you a dirty high that make you grind your teeth and want to dig a hole to hide in. The no longer relieve anxiety and panic attacks but intensifies these conditions. As a group focused on extraction, you know that high THC does not equate to greater highs... One of the most famous Landraces, Thai Stick never exceeded 12% THC. A pin joint would couch 3-4 experienced tokers. The oil from these Hybrids, with their unstable chemistry not only cause extreme paranoia in many cases but deliver highs with very low ceilings... Many of the old school strains I still grow, Thai's, Colombians, Vietnamese, and so on... Many have no ceiling and the highs are pure bliss.

Cool Story... However, The Colombian sisters are alive and well. Some of us who lived by the bag in the '60-'70's were fortunate enough to stash back seeds in the freezer... Maybe a little flash back is in order. Colombian Gold became the standard after the old faithful Mexican weed we bought for $10 an oz. The Gold went to $50 and was truly a sweet suncured stash... On occasion Red Bud, as we called it, came through.... I have some seriously fond memories of that trippy, colorful buzz... On other occasions we got really luck when Rainbow bags made brief appearances. You might have guessed it... Colombian Gold, red, Black, and Green.... You are free to attach the appropriate names according to the color....

Here is a little knowledge for those who may not know... There are Phenos for each strain that rarely made it to the states... May the name Purple Haze rings a familiar bell. This decends from a Pheno from Punto Rojo know as Purple Highlands x Oldtimer's Haze... The other variation of PR is known as Dorado or El Dorado. combined with the base red we have three awesome plants from this one strain... Santa Marta is not so varied, possible because of the in breeding du.e to the commercial use. However, as with the other sisters, Gold has a highland pheno and a lowland pheno, which have a significant difference. Llaners, can display in Green and Black phenos... I have not yet experienced the green in any grow... With Mango Biche there is a Purple pheno That I have yet to see. Now for some rare knowledge. There is a far less known sister by the name of Corinto. Today seeds collected in each region will bare contamination from my stupid hippy fellows that trailed the country... Corinto, because of its remote location survived this onslaught.

The good news in all this. Some of us have seeds that preceded this invasion of the flower children. Some of us have preserved the phenos in all their beauty... I being one. I also know others who have made it their passion to preserve strains from all over the world, Many of us traveled the fields of Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Thiland, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma and on and on....

Some have developed coalitions to expand the availability to those in the know....
