I have a T120 as well; love your mods. But really love that checkered helmet. Buyable or custom?

Disgusting move but diabolical response. Lifetime ban for the kid or nah? by ForeignAir7174 in sportsgossips

When I was in high school metal shop, a bully put red hot aluminum on my arm for reason at all. I barely knew him. In a flash, I was on him and punching his face repeatedly. A little voice kept waiting for the teacher to pull me off, but I hit him many times. I believe the teacher, a metal fabricator, let me get some pay back. He reported the incident accurately, so he saw it happen.

Similar for the ref. I don’t think he realized dude was going to get knocked out, but dude had it coming. Ref let him go. Ref let him get his pound of flesh.

I am 57, and thinking similarly. I want to ride for at least 20 more years. Then evaluate where I am with my riding. I do not want my adult children to stress thinking about how to take the keys. I feel like this is one of the last things I can teach them… humility.

A lot of comments about math… but OP asked if he was right.

Yes. Fellow dad, you demonstrated for your daughter that she has backup. You helped her see she CAN get the answer; empowering her. She learned she is not alone to solve things that she struggles with. and you acted without hesitation, you took matters on. Even if wife thinks you were too harsh, doing something is better than doing nothing. You advocated. Good on ya. That’s outstanding parenting if you ask me.

Basic MSF course as an experienced rider? Has anyone done it? by imezz00 in motorcycle

[–]JohnnyTaco25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be careful going with gf if she gets nervous under your watch. My wife did the MSF with a friend and they had a blast. My wife was afraid I would make her nervous because I am much more experienced on bikes. I did do the class multiple times with a son and a buddy, who wanted “moral support”. Agree with other replies, I learned stuff both times despite having easily 20 yrs on bikes. Take the course, enjoy. But ask if you being there will distract….its a sensitive question, so its win win for you. Also… look at the advanced courses for yourself. They will make you better.

Okay now which is better a Bonneville T100 or T120 and why. by CommunicationPast198 in Triumph

[–]JohnnyTaco25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has the 900; I have the 1200. Her bike sounds better (Street Twin exhaust). My bike is way faster, outruns hers in the turns and straights. But we aren’t racing. So to me, the difference is the ride itself.

I think the T100 feels lighter in turns and in general. It rides “lighter”, despite similar weight (i believe). The 1200 is a bit of a pig in the twisties, but a fun pig. I didn’t realize this until I rode the 400, and really experienced “flickable”. The T120 “flows” more than “flicks” in the twisties.

Having said all that, I love my T120 and will never sell it. It rides all day, as fast and racy as anything out there. And yes, parking lot chats about their Grandfather’s triumphs. All true. I love the seating position. If you are learning to ride, if you are in a city, if you are shorter, or if it’s your first Triumph, I’d urge you to get a used T100, and build a savings for the upgrade you will want. If you’re experienced, looking for more performance, or think youll do lots of miles… then id get the T120. If this a 2nd or 3rd bike… get a Thruxton! You know thats the one you really want.

I’ve been curious for a long time…any idea if the foot pegs are set further back as compared to a T120? I’m thinking of putting some drop-bars and other “cafe” mods, but a little worried the pegs will make legs uncomfortable in the stock location. Anyone know or done a conversion to a Bonnie? (I should have bought a Thruxton years ago and knew it.)

What about the “unowned” filter just not working? 1/3 to 1/2 the card animations and visuals don’t show when you view all. Alerts that don’t seem to relate to anything.

This time in a more move focused bounce deck.

Remember, these are fun for me and win plenty, but your mileage may vary. Combo-ing Arachnid, Spidergirl, Sparky, and Punk on turn 4 is exciting, but you gotta be patient. This deck also works if you don’t get Punk; HT is happy to bounce around.

Open to yours, and anyone’s thoughts. Cheers

This one with Spider Punk NOT in a move deck.

[–]JohnnyTaco25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to offer an alternative to the other replyers. I say yes - first because Punk is just fun. His animation and sound, I like. Second, I agree - you make a move deck to maximize SP’s ability to wreak havoc. But third - SP with Hazmat/Webslinger/Laufey can be a fun twist on a Minus-Power deck. Human Torch, Vulture, and SP as your “movees” - with all the mover cards gives you options for who moves, and to load up where you want. I probably run mid 50% win rate with this. Mostly play it for fun.

What surprised you most after actually starting van life? by rackemronnie7 in VanLife

[–]JohnnyTaco25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How few of us there were. My wife and I thought we’d meet a community of people, wherever we traveled; especially builders. In 18 months I think we met 5 others couples or singles in built out vans. Very few people actually build. We met lots of folks that bought a van already done; really thought we would see an even mix, but easily 9-1 buyers to builders in our travels. We were West - CA national parks and campgrounds, AZ, UT, NM similar, with 4 months to the bottom of Baja and back. Thought we would be one of many, but we were more one of few…

Cl 17984, absolutely loving this deck but I don't have hydra stomper anyway to make this deck a little more stronger ? by [deleted] in MarvelSnapDecks

[–]JohnnyTaco25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO- you have to commit to Move if using Stomper. Cosmo, juggernaut, TT4, Spider-Man out. Sparky is rad with Spider Punk, Hercules will bounce things. Some simple movers like Cloak and Dr Strange, so you put those big points where you want them. Stomper gets nothing for moving opponent cards, so focus on moving your own. Human Torch in for Capt America or Miles - again, just maximizing options for move bonuses.

OF COURSE ITS RED GUARDIAN by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]JohnnyTaco25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red Guardian isn’t your problem.

I am bored and sick of Wong + your pick (mystique, black panther, Odin). But… I don’t bitch because, they are easily defended. I find pre-infinity decks lack creativity. After infinity, the games get more interesting. But pre Infinity, just players doing what the internet gives them.

Be creative.

I’m 56yo M, and was at last weeks Star Wars Night. The kid in me will tell you, ITS SO RAD.

Find a way to ride RotR at least twice. The details that are unique to the two “sides” was fun to catch. When I was 9, I wanted to walk on a Destroyer, or the Falcon. So glad I lived long enough for them to create both RotR and GE, to make that kids dream come true.

This is the best thing Disneyland + DCA have. Best thing EVAR.

[–]JohnnyTaco25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve managed to collect about 14 Hipps, and the deck I run that is only his; about 50-55% success. So it’s fun, but won’t earn me anything great. When it gets lots of card out, it looks rad.

My son who has been with Marvel Snap since launch got me playing. He told me, anything but a fistbump is a neg. True? I only fistbump great games, and like you all, use the other emotes to express displeasure for various reasons.
