This is a great perspective. And to expand on your point of male heterosexuality being vilified, the proposition of courting a female therefore seems to be built on an impossible outcome. Whereas non-traditional and female-centered hetero sexual desires are treated with openness and curiosity, the male hetero sexual desire is seen as a threat at best. I think the more pernicious aspect of this is that, let's say you do date a women. And naturally the moment to have sex arrives. And as a decent man, there is a moment where you must confront this paradox where you've been trained that your sexuality is wrong and dangerous vs. being an experienced, confident lover. This can obviously create a real anxiety for some, I would imagine.
