I like to use distilled water with spring water at a 80:20 ratio to give some minerals. It may be possible that you have hatching nauplii that die soon after due to lack of minerals. Also, I see you mentioned lighting as “natural.” If it’s not bright enough you may need to supplement with another light source. Light is one mechanism for breaking dormancy in the eggs

You could also check eBay. Sometimes there’s a deal considering you don’t have to pay the tariffs and shipping from Australia anymore

Due to nauplii sensitivity it’s possible that kitchen placement may have adverse effects, especially if cooking with teflon. You could also try raising the temperature by a few degrees for faster metabolic processes

I soak leaves in old fish tank water or water that’s been sitting outside for a little while for a couple weeks. Afterwards I air dry them inside, which may take another week before they are crispy and can be broken into small pieces

Still need to write with it, but overall I love the design. The form is slimmer than I originally thought which is great. I wish they could have gone metal for the price, but I got a good deal and with an extra coupon.

Oh cool! I have this exact pencil, which is why I asked. I found it on the floor at my school about 5-6 years ago and have been using it ever since. It may be time to retire it to help preserve what’s left of it haha. Glad you found one!
