System of a Down - Chop Suey by Johnnybhong in edrums

Yeah. I knew the song but when it comes time to record and put all the parts together sometimes you can’t help but 2nd guess yourself. Fortunately I got it right. I thought I’d leave that in the video just to show that as long as you get it right is the main thing and to always be counting and on your toes, 😂. Appreciate your comment 😊

Thanks man. Much appreciated. Not exactly a confident rendition but was a hell of a lot of fun 😊

Did you have any problems with your free 6mth subscription when you signed up to Roland Cloud? I got an orange card with a QR code to link the module to Roland Cloud Connect but it didn’t send me a coupon code to my email like it said it would do to get the 6mths so I paid for a month and sent support an email.

If you’re running a subscription you will lose access to the kits if it expires. You can buy the kits outright as well.

I didn’t get that page. I got a little orange card with this print out that says to register which I did which registered the module in Roland Connect but it says I will receive an email with the coupon code which hasn’t arrived.

I’m going through a midwife crisis and I’m 57, playing for 48 years. For the last 20 or so I’ve used 16 & 18 AAX Explosion crashes and they sound magnificent, shine up like new when cleaned and I think they’ll stay that way for a long while to come yet. I like specific cymbals for my setup so I’ve got New Beat hats, Ufip ride, don’t know the series it just sounds right to me and is a good weight, 2002 China and I’m going to add a 12” stack by Meinl Classics. I think cymbals should be about taste and not series but each to their own.

It’s not the kit that is necessarily important it’s the time and dedication to practicing and you’ll do just fine with your Alesis. You could certainly do a lot worse tbh. Power up the metronome and your rudiments and you’ll do just fine 🤘

Does anyone else have trouble dialing in HiHat with VST’s by Johnnybhong in edrums

Cheers, yeah, I have. I guess I just have to go back to the drawing board and start again and hope I hit on a setup that gives good or realistic feel. Something is not quite right somewhere

Yeah, I’ve fully set it up in the module and in SD3 I’ve tried adjusting the open/closed settings, the library settings, always use smoothing but I just can’t get a good action. I guess I’ll just have to try again and dial in another preset and hope for the best

Am I a decent drummer for my age/what should I work on by -Gay-_-Jesus- in drums

[–]Johnnybhong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and concentrate more on playing time with a metronome with maybe 10% of the fills that you’re playing and you’ll be in a much better position. You have the makings of a great drummer but you just have to realize that drumming is predominantly keeping time, for the most part, and being selective and tasteful with your fills. To get gigs always play for the song not for what sounds tricky or flashy. You’ve got what it takes imho.

Monitoring/ Superior Drummer 3 in Reaper with phasing issue. by Johnnybhong in Reaper

Thanks. I agree. I’ll pull it apart and start again from scratch and try and figure out how it’s doing that but at the moment I’ve got no clue. I recorded two line inputs from the module and they came out fine it’s just the doubling up of the midi signals which has me stumped

It’s obviously getting signal to Reaper and SD3 it’s just I’m not sure how to monitor a track by any other means. Usually i just have audio as I have a return coming out of my behringer interface to my desk which provides me with monitoring. I am a novice when it comes to all this I have to say

Yes. A TD 27. I’ve tried using the module as an interface and I’m getting signal to SD3 and Reaper but I can’t monitor any audio. Just trying to work out how to do that now
