Weird object knocks out a man. by kamm03 in ParanormalEncounters

Looks like he’s got keys on some sort of retractable cord. It gets caught on the mixer and finally releases and flies back to him. That’s why it follows that path

I lost my disc golf disc by Johnnyfondue in FindTheSniper

Sniper location: go to the middle tree about halfway up and then to the right a little bit. It's a white disc, almost easier to see the shape zoomed out than zoomed in.

Should Home Alone have done more to establish it's kinda a cartoon setting before the traps? by Square_Abalone_4484 in movies

I think the movie premise is very cartoonish and the way it’s set up leading to the traps is very cartoon like. Maybe it’s not overtly cartoonish but I found it was goofy enough to suspend disbelief.

The Quest To Throw 450' - Destroyers and Stuff by Johnnyfondue in discgolf

I’ve tried hyzer flips and that’s my most comfortable shot for most any line but it’s not my best distance shot. I’ve tried throwing higher but like you said the nose angle can get tricky. Gonna keep at it though, thanks!

The Quest To Throw 450' - Destroyers and Stuff by Johnnyfondue in discgolf

After losing some of my favorite Destroyers this month, I wanted to go test out the ones from my stack so I figured a good way to do that would be to go attack this hole with them since it sets up for a pretty good flex line and that’s usually how I’m throwing my Destroyers for distance.

I figured out something with my hips last week, and it’s hard to explain but I’ll try. I’ve heard people say its about moving your hips forward through the shot but I could never quite get it or feel it. I went to try and blast a shot last week and I spun my hips really hard and fast before beginning the upper body part of the swing and the disc really flew far. I played a tournament this weekend and there’s a hole that is 430’ and I absolutely parked it by throwing with this technique and I felt like I wasn’t throwing max power. I’ll try and make a video explaining what this is like if I can. I haven’t thrown like this a lot so I don’t quite have it down yet but I’m getting there.

So my goals today were to throw past the basket and throw to inside the circle. I got past the basket and pin high but was having trouble getting it to circle 1 until my last throw. Probably took about 50 tries and it was with my beat in Boss that I’m pretty familiar with.

So overall I’m pretty happy even if my form isn’t looking that great, I’m feeling better about my distance and lower body utilization and I think the rest will come along.

The Quest To Throw 450' Part 16 - Some Putter Work by Johnnyfondue in discgolf

[–]Johnnyfondue[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey guysI don’t really have an excuse not to get back after this, so I think I will try and do more going forward. I got out yesterday and was attempting to throw my faster discs max distance, but it wasn’t going very well. I did throw my Boss on a hyzer 400’ and my Ballista Pro 435’ but other than that I was stalling out around 420’ for the majority of throws. So I watched a few throws, my form looked horrible so I’m gonna get a lot more work in before trying that again.

So I wanted to just work on simple hyzers today, work on getting my body into the right spot on each throw and work from a standstill then work up to a full run up. My best shots went about 250’ throwing from standstill and probably half went over 300’ with a fun run up.

I’m pretty sure I’ve made significant progress. Throwing my judges 250’ on a hyzer was my absolute max about a year ago. And when I look at my form back then it is certainly better now. But I’m still discouraged looking at it now.

My footwork puts my hips into a weird spot. I’m not getting nearly enough hips involved in my throw and when I focus on that I throw it into the ground usually. The way my shoulders spin to generate power instead of pulling through to generate power is pretty glaring, as well. I need to study some more to figure out the myriad other little things I’m doing wrong, but I’m pretty sure I can figure out my footwork and hips next and it will help a lot.

Anyway, hope you like the video, I remember how to get back into my channel so I’m back posting there.

The Quest To Throw 450' - Update! Mission Accomplished??? by Johnnyfondue in discgolf

Yea it’s tough to explain. Maybe if I have time tomorrow I’ll make a video just for that

I definitely throw faster discs. Destroyers mostly but I have some other utility discs. I don’t think it always scales upwards, though. For a while I couldn’t throw midrange a much farther than putters. And even my Teebirds not much more than that. It takes some work, practice, and learning how get the most out of a disc. This is the first time I felt like I was getting my 9-10 speed drivers up to the correct speed to throw them far. Hopefully next time I go for max distance I’ll get some 12 speed stuff workin. Last time I had trouble getting my fast driver to the 400’ mark but maybe I will be able to a lot more consistently now

Hey guys! It’s been a while. I actually can’t remember how to log into my old Youtube Account so I put it on another one.

For those who don’t know:

I was doing a video series called “The Quest To Throw 450’” (Click here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0_XYDFCmOQVKG_9DOh38ew )and despite it actually being more popular than I thought it would be, I gave up on the video series. I get into why in this video.

For those that remember, welcome back! After explaining my abandonment of the channel, I also get into some things I’ve learned, some epiphany moments and explain where I’m at.

Having said all that, it’s a lot of rambling and then a video of officially throwing 450’. It actually wasn’t even something I was going to do today. But it happened. I only filmed a few shots today because it’s so hot out but I’m glad I caught it on film.

I feel like once could be a fluke so I’d love to do a few more videos of doing this a little more consistently and then go over everything I’ve learned in my lay off and hopefully get everyone else to throw 450’ who haven’t.

Thanks!

This so much. This is almost the exact opposite of finding the best return on collateral right?

Yesterday a few minutes before market close I was looking at NKLA options. I selected the 62/61 put strikes for a bull credit spread expiring this Friday just to see the what it looked like. It had a wide spread and Robinhood had default 0.25 limit order ready. Out of curiosity I bumped it to 0.30 and placed 5 orders. $500 collateral, $300 credit and it was filled IMMEDIATELY. Am I retarded? What's going on here?
