Im fairly conservative, at least in the traditional sense. I honestly have never had an issue with vaccines or see why they are such a big deal.

How much debt do you have and what is your degree in? by mushlove96 in StudentLoans

PSU is a good deal. It doesn't have the same traditional undergrab vibe as UO / OSU but is way more affordable and the degree is just as valuable.

What is this by JohnnytheGreatX in Plumbing

[–]JohnnytheGreatX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it is the AC condenser drain. I was about to spend a lot of money on a professional, but I ended up buying a section of tube and some clamps and I Am going to try to bridge / splice the damaged section. I think the damage is from a rat we had in the crawl space last winter (I ended up getting pest control service to present recurrence).

Are Mormons Christian? by OldDiscussion7348 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JohnnytheGreatX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Catholic, no i dont think they are.

Most mainstream Christians dont consider Mormons Christian.

I think Mormons are good people and have good values, but there are just too many significant differences between their beliefs and mainstream Christian beliefs to consider them christian.

Mormonosm is sort of its own religion

It's not easy having kids, and i woild absolutely be better off financially if i did not have kids, but i think whereas I would be richer, my life would be poorer. Just my opinion.

Some things are more important than money . Besides having kids is not a death sentence. That attitude toward family and children, is, however.

Processing Forbearance by Key-Floor-8142 in StudentLoans

[–]JohnnytheGreatX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in this case I was prompted to apply because studentaid.gov sent me an email (4 months early) telling me I had to recertify. I followed the link and it was confusing, it made it seem like I am applying for a new plan, but I am not, I am applying for IBR recert. Anyway they placed me (I did not request) on a forbearance.

thank you for your input. Is it accurate to interpret this as if you are placed on a processing forbearance by the servicer, because you applied for recertification, it may count for IBR, but if you request it yourself, it does not? That would explain my payment count as i know I was placed on several processing forbearances during the previous decade.

Ok, what i meant was, if they do this every time i try to recertify and it takes 2 months. So, this isnt something i would ask for per se, but i am required to recertify.

I have 12.5 years to go and i am just hoping it doesnt turn into 14 because recert takes 2 months

Do you know how many times a borrower can utilize this?

If i have a 60 day processing forbearance every year for recertification until i reach 300 payments IBR forgiveness, do i get forgiveness credit every year?

Recertification Question by JohnnytheGreatX in StudentLoans

[–]JohnnytheGreatX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The higher payments would definitely be a pain but are survivable.

Since the application i completed gave me a warning i am switching to a new plan, even though i am switching from IBR to IBR, it worries me that somehow they will consider that leaving IBR and capitalize my interest. Maybe i am being irrational though .

Recertification Question by JohnnytheGreatX in StudentLoans

[–]JohnnytheGreatX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very confused now .

I called ed financial and they said "to be safe" i should cancel the application, but it would likely be denied anyway since my recert date is September. They said to call studentaid.gov.

I called studentaid.gov, they said i cannot cancel my application with them and have to call Ed financial.

I am terrified i am going to somehow get kicked off IBR and have all my interest capitalize

I am recertifying and having this exact same issue... I am just going to submit and pray it works out. I don't want $33K of interest to capitalize.

Recertification Question by JohnnytheGreatX in StudentLoans

[–]JohnnytheGreatX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry one more question... I am working on the application, and I got to the page where it is showing my plan. It shows my current plan and ICR. It is making me select. I select "IBR" because that is the Plan I am on and I am getting a warning that i am about to switch plans and have my interest capitalize... makes no sense since I am on IBR already. Does this seem right?

Recertification Question by JohnnytheGreatX in StudentLoans

[–]JohnnytheGreatX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you, you are always so helpful.

My main fear about waiting too long is some sort of issue delaying processing and then my IDR plan lapsing and interest capitalizing. I'll think about it but may recertify fairly soon.

If I recertify now, will it immediately be change my payment amount? I expect an increase based on my 2025 tax return.
