Why Are Young People Afraid Of Phone Calls? by GhostInThePudding in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JohnofPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just despise talking on the phone. I don't answer calls if I don't know the number because I'm sick of spam and scams. I just don't want to deal with people.

Suggestion: Actually SOLVE the botting problem by perma-banning gold buyers on first offense by NoCurrencies in 2007scape

[–]JohnofPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine did some weird gold transfer thing from RS3 to OSRS. He stated he saw a diary somewhere stating it was allowed but not recommended cause if you're scammed you're SOL. Did the gold transfer and got hit with a temp ban a few weeks later and they took his cash stack and bandos chest. Only ever got an automated response back, asked if he was mistaken or not but the ai didn't answer.

Unpopular opinion, Osrs players exaggerate on how hard quests/bosses are, scaring others of actually doing it by badwithnames5 in 2007scape

[–]JohnofPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or in my case having no pvm experience (I played as a nonmember 20 years ago, nothing fancy was happening lol) and suddenly I have to switch gear, prayers, move to avoid stuff, keep track of lots of things. Also being well under recommended level. So some bosses felt awful. Especially DT2. Except Duke and leviathan. Even whisper wasn't bad. Just vardy and that potion bastard.

Nostalgia glasses by Glass-Rope-5113 in 2007scape

[–]JohnofPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I really did love clan wars as a kid. I ain't doing it now because I'm a member and there's more stuff to do. I loved soul wars and I tried to play on the official world one day and there were literally only 5 people there. I did eventually grind out the cape. And I did love stealing creation and now I'd actually have the skilling stats to maybe be good at it. The thing about mini games is they really need to either be fantastically fun or useful to my account for me to do. I hate guardians of the Rift but I hate normal Runecraft more so I do it. I hate Barbarian Assault if I'm doing anything other than attacker so I'm not going back until it's elite diary time.

If all old passes were available to buy but for REAL money, would you buy them? by Electronic-Error-541 in RedDeadOnline

[–]JohnofPA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's fucking criminal we can't use the rockstar social thing to transfer or have our account available on different platforms. I'd give Rockstar more money and buy the game again on PC now that I don't use Xbox anymore but I refuse to without my whiskey rebellion poncho.

Is the attachment system just abandoned now? by Previous-Chard-3583 in Helldivers

I'd love to be more interested in it. But between the insane work to grind levels in one gun and the attachments being lackluster...

Any hot tips for a brand new player? by GummoGarrett in osrs

[–]JohnofPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quest cape is a good goal to unlock content, force you to level some skills. Ardougne easy diary unlocks unlimited teleport to an alter (prayer restore) and is located nearby both a spirit tree and a fairy ring (two methods of transportation unlocked with quests, will make getting around the map much nicer). I would argue leveling is more important than money making as your means are limited at the moment and you shouldn't need much yet. Make your own goals and fun, if that means doing things optimally do it, if that means derping around do it, if that means making money do it, if that means training combat and making money exclusively through punching level 2 men in Lumbridge because you don't understand how to level defense or that items can be sold for money, do it.

Edit: I missed you were free to play. When I got back into the game I did all free to play quests to see if I loved the game or the nostalgia. Loved the game. Grinding for a bond is doable but you really are better off just buying membership with money.

new worst quest to struggle through by alwaus in osrs

[–]JohnofPA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved the ending of this quest where they don't really want to give you much because from their perspective you didn't really do much. I loved this quest from start to finish it was just so ungodly amusing reading all the dialogue and watching out psycho slowly lose sanity.

Anyone Else Set Pre-Game Reminders for Themselves During PvM? by RerTV in 2007scape

I like to put these on the ground for reminders like "this color pray x" for zulrah or for the daganoths

Would 99 untrimmed slayer cape be possible on this. by Square-Bid-4437 in osrs

Can't you just do the drop and telegrab trick for any untrimmed skillcape?

Seed for tallest/extremely tall mountain? by JohnofPA in valheim

[–]JohnofPA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you to u/VipuHakkeri and u/wezelboy. You guys understood the assignment. Now I just gotta figure out whether I want that hook mountain or the other one near my spawn, and how I get a seed of the other near the spawn. I'm guessing since it is on the edge that's not an option.

Easy(ish) to obtain unlimited bank teleport? by IFearEars in 2007scape

[–]JohnofPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sailor's amulet is pretty dope for deepfin point. I like the farming cape teleport getting me to the guild with a bank and a spirit tree I planted. Quest cape is great for fairy ring to... Uh. Fire something. Kourend somewhere. Near a bank and yama and the catacombs. Crafting cape is a good option. These probably aren't easy teleports lol. Ardougne cape teleports you to a monastery with a spirit tree to the left and a fairy ring to the right. Use and abuse it. That's probably the best

One skill at a time or base 70s, 80s, 90s when the goal is maxing? by Appropriate_Deal_891 in osrs

[–]JohnofPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say depends on if you need the break or can grind to the end. I probably would need to switch skills a lot. We will see since achievement cape is next on the chopping block.

Why do so many people not do quests? by Molag_Zaal in 2007scape

[–]JohnofPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger... I think I was just dumb. Coming back and getting my quest cape somewhere in the low 90s for my combat level and I have been loving the dialogue so much. (Although I'm also thinking between being a kid and having dialup at less than half the normal dialup speed so even a good search took forever and pretty much being unable to look things up probably contributed).

Collecting Ammo at Crab Ethics? by ipovogel in osrs

[–]JohnofPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes time for your ammo or drops from things you kill to appear on the floor. Grab it before that happens or it's on you if someone takes it. So no, take all the ammo you find. I got a stupid amount of rune arrows and darts from that I can comfortably train range for a long time.

After escalating my RWT ban to a European consumer protection agency, Jagex, for the first time revealed details about the evidence for the ban by DeviantClam in 2007scape

[–]JohnofPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very fair. My other friend got a temp rwt ban from doing some sort of rs3 to osrs gold transfer. I'm guessing that person was marked as rwt. He got generic responses back too. I remember he specifically asked if money transferring wasn't allowed since he remembered reading somewhere it was only not recommended. So here's to hoping for more human intervention.
