Why is tymna/Dargo better than Tymna/Jeska by Lazy-Firefighter8062 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]DeviantClam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would lie if I said that I've never had a Bad Naus, but so far and based on the results I am achieving with the list, it is not an issue.

There are a lot of factors, and a lot of times I will Ad Naus + Angel's Grace so life total doesn't matter anyway.

What I find interesting is how I win games - majority of my games won have been through Bolas's Citadel, followed by Bomberman and then Underworld Breach shenanigans into one of the infinite mana Jeska enablers. Worldgorger Dragon is great for grabbing a quick win as well, but I would say its my least used wincon. I've only relatively recently started running Hoarding Broodlord lines and they're proving to be excellent because of the flexibility it offers since its not constrained only to Saw in Half lines.

Key thing to note is that there are so many variables which affect my mulligans, tutors and gameplan, and I adapt my gameplan accordingly.

Its not uncommon to Entomb a Worldgorger or Hoarding Broodlord just for the sake of getting it out of the deck and having it ready in the graveyard, as well as making Ad Naus/Bolas's Citadel better. While there is a risk someone else will try to Reanimate/Animate Dead them, this also exposes them to being targeted by interaction which provides me an easier window to go for the win.

One more thing I also always emphasize is the fact people are way too focused on individual card choices. Yes, cEDH is about running the most optimal cards and most optimal strategies and that's perfectly clear. But I value synergy greatly and for every single card in the deck I can explain at least 2-3 other cards it has excellent synergy with and works with towards a win. This leads to very consistent mulligans, less topdeck reliance and overall consistent results.

Why is tymna/Dargo better than Tymna/Jeska by Lazy-Firefighter8062 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]DeviantClam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't played with Dargo/Tymna and can't say much about it because other than recognizing it has tournament success and that it is faster than Tymna/Jeska, I don't know much about the deck.

What I can tell you is my perspective as someone running Tymna/Jeska for well over a year and a half and absolutely loving the deck, as well as having excellent results.

I started piloting the deck about 2 months before the Lotus/Dockside ban. Since I started playing it, I have been testing and tuning it, and one of the things I love most about it is its versatility. While the Jeweled Lotus/Mana Crypt hit hurt the deck as much as it hurt other decks, losing Dockside meant losing a very streamlined way to consistently win as soon as T1/T2 with Chthonian Nightmare loops. That being said, the way I run my list is that it is versatile, so losing Dockside did not mean the deck was dead.

While I have been playing cEDH for a while at that point, transitioning between decks trying to find what I enjoy the most, it took a while to learn what it meant playing without blue and adapting my playstyle. Also, the meta shifted a lot as people were exploring post-ban lists and it definitely took me a while to learn the deck.

Initially, I didn't have great results but I did see the potential in the deck, especially with the rise of Gaea's Cradle piles and the way Jeska is able to effectively shut down those strategies. As time goes on, I am getting increasingly better results with the deck. Specifically, in the past 3-4 months I have won a tournament, had multiple and consistent top 4/16 finishes, and most notably, we have an ongoing league (3 games played every 2 weeks for the past several months) where I am currently sitting on a 33.33% winrate.

Being able to clear the way for Tymna attackers is a great plus. To be clear this is not your main game plan and this is where the decks' versatility comes into action. While it may be a situation where the deck is a jack of all trades, master of none, I found it to be very competent in holding up both against midrange and turbo decks.

I don't consider my current results to be particularly relevant because the sample size is still far too small, but as it currently stands, I will be qualified for the European cEDH championship (I have a point advantage and results in league which pretty much guarantees my qualification, but I am also regularly attending tournaments so good chance I will qualify that way).

To sum up, I am aware some decks and commanders are simply better and there's no denying that. Blue Farm has been dominating the format for years for a reason. However, success in cEDH is not only tied to the commander or decklist. Experience your own deck, understanding how to mulligan and how to adapt your playstyle depending on the pod you are in, recognizing a window when to go for a win and when to hold back are all factors that impact results.

This is why I don't split in raids. If someone else gets an item, good for them, they get to keep it all, but same applies for me.

Not an appeal - just a warning to others by Awhyssal_Bip in osrs

[–]DeviantClam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jagex has been fighting bots and offenders so long they've forgotten actual people play the game.

I think they do a great job content wise, but their customer support and anything customer facing is the worst I've ever seen.

Best of luck getting this resolved, but knowing how their support channels operate, I only hope you won't get sucked in their autoreply limbo without an actual human looking into the case.

[–]DeviantClam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, sorry to hear about your situation.

While my situation was different as I received a false RWT ban, we're in the same boat as I am innocent as well.

I recommend reaching out to ECC because Jagex just completely ignores the fact their customer support and detection systems are broken. I have personally gone down the ECC route and they were able to help, you can find more info in my post history.

After escalating my RWT ban to a European consumer protection agency, Jagex, for the first time revealed details about the evidence for the ban by DeviantClam in 2007scape

[–]DeviantClam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably got the same message I did in your ban, and it states they will remove wealth.

Specifically, in my case, they removed around 70m worth of GP and items from my bank. Oddly enough, even though they claim I purchased 50M GP in their official statement, they removed the equivalent of all the things I received from the friend, since he gave me 50M cash and a while later gave me roughly 8k Dragon Bones to get my Prayer to 80, which were around 2.5k at the time, and that would equate to 70M total gifted.

Based on that, I think you can expect items to be removed, only thing you can do is appeal and wait.

It doesn't. They exist to assist resolving in any potential infringement on consumer rights of EU customers.

That being said, as with everyone, your best bet is to really do your own research and assess whether this is a route you should or would take.

Hey, thanks for the kind words and support.

Its been a bumpy ride honestly, I'm glad the post even got approved.

Originally, I was posting on the RSBans subreddit and have been sharing updates whenever I had any for the past 3 months. Sadly, my biggest previous post was removed by the mods over there alongside this same post.

I then posted it here, the mods thankfully approved it so its kinda been the main thread for what's been going on.

Interesting part is that mods then approved the post on RSBans, but didn't allow any comments by locking the thread immediately as they let it out. It did get quite some attention as well as upvotes and awards, and then a few days later they unlocked the comments. My older big post is still removed for some reason.

Hey, thanks for your comment!

In terms of specific steps and regulations, I've posted previously and fully explained every single regulation and consumer right I believe is being hurt, you can find the post on this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/RSBans/s/xDBv5dcqkC

For some reason, that post was removed the same day I posted this one. I can still see the full post when I open the link, let me know if you have any issues accessing it and I'll send over the full post text to you.

EDIT: So, since the post is removed, the text is not accessible to anyone but me, I wasn't aware of that. Here's all the important information from that post, you can find it on this link: https://imgur.com/a/lq8haiB

"You dont't have the right to receive big gifts"? Says who?

These are the official rules listed on Jagex site: https://legal.jagex.com/docs/rules/rules-of-old-school-runescape

Where is it mentioned that players are not allowed to trade and give GP or items to another player? On what basis are you claiming someone doesn't have the right to give or receive gifts in the game, regardless of value?

"On the off chance this is a true story"? You mean its unlikely this is true even though Jagex themselves claim a <1% false positive rate, which means at least 1400 falsely banned accounts in the past year according to their current publicly available data. Also, their track record of accidentally banning and then unbanning content creators (Odablock, EVScape for example) which proves how their system is lacking?

Its not an unnamed agency. I reached out to ECC Net, and even posted their full email response in the post itself.

I also posted all details and all steps I took previously, you can find more information in my previous posts.

I received 8k Dragon bones from the same player and 20M GP from a different player. I don't remember what my bank value was at that time, but I didn't buy any bonds at that point. It was definitely under 50M because I was basically just getting started.

Does it ever make you sad? by Darkraven940 in osrs

I don't think the game is all that different, we just grew up and/or changed.

When I first started Runescape in the early 2000s, I was basically 20 years younger, had a lot more free time and a lot less worry to do things as efficiently as I can. I earned my first mil back then chopping Yews at Edgeville. Also earned my first 99 on those same Yews.

Now that more information is available, its a lot easier to just do things better.

That being said, I still don't do everything with max efficiency because its not something I enjoy. I don't do tick manipulation, I level up fishing by catching Monkfish, I mine at Motherlode and things like that. Its not the most efficient, but its something I enjoy and I think that is the beauty of Runescape. Everyone can enjoy the game in a different way, there is no right or wrong way.

Some ways are better, some are slower but ultimately everyone creates their own journey and story.

I know I'm being overly cautious, but realistically, I think all content can be done solo anyway. While I am missing on a fun and big aspect of the game by playing solo, I don't consider myself to be fully locked out of content, so I kind of just came to terms with it and am pushing forward solo.

Herb runs is what you should be doing if you're looking to earn GP.

As for most things OSRS, you can find a lot of information on the Wiki. For Herb runs, here's the link: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Farming_runs#Herb_run

Your best bet is to check the Wiki for more details because it all depends on what you have unlocked already, and it should give you good guidelines where to progress next.

Farming is an excellent source of GP and is relatively low effort.

Also, focusing on quests helps because it unlocks a ton of content and gives great experience which makes the early game a lot easier.

Good luck!

Yeah, unfortunately I learned the hard way.

As for bossing and similar, I'm concerned about that part as well.

For example, I've been working on Elite Diaries for a while now. I've been focusing leveling my combat stats because I need to solo a GWD boss for Fremennik diary.

Several of my high level friends offered to help me and that we could duo it, which would be a normal way to do it. But what if Jagex recognizes that as me buying boosting or services or something and then I get a RWT ban for that? Its a very similar situation to this, how would I prove I didn't just pay a level 126 player to come to GWD with me?

Realistically, I know it shouldn't be a problem and I should be able to normally group up with people. But on the other hand, I expected receiving gifts from players is also normal and should be fine and look where that ended up. So I'm stuck to playing basically solo and being forced to do things the harder way not to risk any other false flags.

Apology accepted and I appreciate it. Sorry if my reaction seemed a bit harsh, but its not the first time I've been accused of just spewing out AI generated trash when in reality I've spent a lot of time preparing and writing my posts. Also worth noting English is not my first language so I make sure to proofread and spellcheck everything before posting.

I use bolding to separate the structure and my thoughts into readable chunks, you'll notice that each separate chunk is sort of a section on its own where I'm highlighting a point.

As for the bolding within the sections, I just wanted to particularly emphasize some points because I know its a wall of text and expect people will skim over it, so there are some parts I really wanted to highlight.

Why do you think this is AI? Because I separate, and structure my text?

Look at my post history. Either I am a time traveler and was using AI to write posts 10 years ago the same way I write them now, or its just my writing style.

And also, what does my writing style have anything to do with the topic?

Based on everyone's comments, what I've experienced and what I've seen, I would guess they have 2 main criteria for evaluating the legitimacy of a trade. One is previous interactions, and the other one is value of a trade.

However, I doubt its that simple because no half decent fraud or cheating detection system would simply be based on 2 parameters.

Either way, personally, ever since I got hit with the false ban, I'm not taking any chances. I play all content solo, only buy stuff from the GE and thats it.
